Yes Loane, that is the book!

Hi Jessica, is it the book "Self healing colitis and Chron" by David Klein that you are talking about? apparently, what heals the gut also heals the stomach. Which is logical of course. I seem to not have problems with acid fruits or avocados...Thanks again!

Hi Kenichisan!

I started out very simple and followed David Klein's healing diet. No overt fats the first month, no nuts for a year, no hard-to-digetst veggies, no acid fruits and so on. My stomach gradually healed and now you can see what I eat on a typical day in my video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko5WSf9I6qc

@Loane Hi again! Yes, I gave her some rest. =) Actually I know that our bodies have the healing power. Our bodies also struggle to balance out the stress we put upon it in different ways (wrong food, mental stress, to little exercise and so on). When we make it easier for our bodies by giving it the right food and so on it starts healing. Yes, give him some rest and he will be soo grateful!  My digestion was too fast actually. I suffered from diarrhea and couldn't absorb nutrition. Much love to you from me and my stomach :D

hi Jessica, thanks so much for your thorough answer. It really helps me. It looks like your stomach needed a break. You didn´t give him too much hard work for a long time and it could heal. (and maybe fruits actually healed it? ). Fascinating. I had the feeling that I had to do what you just described and now I know that it is indeed what I should do :-). My stomach is ok with steamed veggies. I even feel that it´s  good for him....

I wonder, did you also had a slow digestion? or just pain? thanks.

@NEY: Ha, ha, thank you for both your comments =) So happy to hear that you have had similar transformations, but not the last one of course ;)

@Loane: When I started this lifestyle I ate sweet fruit and when it came to veggies I ate cucumbers (peeled those in the beginning because the peel is hard to digest if you have stomach issues like I hade). I also had steamed potatoes for dinner and only easy-to-digest lettuce like romain. I never had those hard-to-digest veggies that gives you the problem. I didn't have any overt fats at all the first month either. Then I gradually introduced avocado. It took me a year before I could handle any kind of nuts and I still have them in moderation. Now I can handle couliflower and carrots raw too. My advice for you is to stick to easy-to-digest food until your stomach is stronger. If you crave those veggies you listed try to steam them for dinner. If you still get the pain exclude the steamed versions too.

Thank you Jessica for sharing your experience! I also have stomach pain, almost every day, and I wonder if you can eat raw veggies like carrots, betroots, radish, cauliflower, etc, you know, the hard veggies, without pain? Those give me big stomach pain, especially carrots. Thank you!
