Hello! I'm Apple, 25 y.o., from the Philippines. I have struggled with dieting and weight gain MY WHOLE LIFE. I was chubby as a kid, grew up being teased as "fatty", "piggy", and all sorts of mean names.

I kind of seesawed between restricting calories to bingeing over the past 10 years. It has not been a very happy ride. I was DESPERATE to get skinny and fit into all the dresses I wanted, and leave all my bullies with their mouths gaping open (I know, it's not a very healthy motivation).

5 years ago, our family doctor noticed a lump in my throat. Tests revealed an enlarged thyroid, the culprit of me unable to lose weight (and my ability to GAIN huge amounts of weight). I tried going vegan, and I succeeded for a year, then some articles about soy being goitrogenic forced me to eat fish for thyroid support.

I still felt sick, bloated. A year ago, I broke up with my boyfriend and was left feeling pretty much depressed. I blamed it on my weight and bought some Chinese slimming pills online and religiously took them for 4 months. It gave me headaches, dizziness, lack of energy, moodiness, and even more depression. And yeah, it got me skinny. Like really really 115 pounds skinny for a 5'5'' gal. I felt really sick and wanted to stop taking them, because if I missed even a single day, my appetite would BLOW UP and I would eat MASSIVE amounts of unhealthy food which only made me feel worse.

Again I read some articles about how taking pills like this could lead to liver and kidney damage, and a documented article of how a lady taking some Chinese slimming pills died. (SCARY!) So I threw all my remaining bottles away and braced myself for the weight gain. And gain I did. 35 pounds, even more than what I lost.

This left me so depressed, I only stayed home (away from public eyes) and ate. And ate. And ate. As if eating would melt all the weight away. Yeah, so people kept commenting, "You gained weight!" That did not make me feel any better. Not at all.

One day I was browsing about on fb, and I found The Banana Girl Diet Challenge on FB on November of 2012. Everyone there was vibrating with life and energy! I read all the testimonials and the diaries, and I was convinced that this was life-changing.

Ever since, I have tried upping my fruit intake. I have recently bought a high-speed blender so I could blend bananas! :) My taste buds are still getting used to the delicate flavors from fruit and veggies; it's so unlike the high condiment food that most Asians are used to. I have also started to exercise, and incorporate more water, sleep, and sunshine into my lifestyle as well. And what I can say? Wow! I positively glow! And I'm not even 100% raw yet! How much more if I went all the way? And my weight, you ask? I have lost 10 pounds. 8 weeks, 10 pounds. Not drastically lost, but I've still lost. And that is my 1st milestone to success.

This is my only salvation to a fulfilling life free from sickness, any other diet or lifestyle I've tried has always left me bloated and gaining weight. I am determined to commit myself to this lifestyle, and every time I am tempted to slip away, I remind myself that 20, 30, 40 years from now, I will be thanking myself that I made this decision. :)

So I've been slipping out of 811rv, mostly in the afternoons. I've immediately noticed it in my body: more bloating, less energy, more feeling tired.
