Durianrider & Freelee started this site to bring together high carb, raw vegan and vegan lifestylists' across the Globe! 30bad is a high standard and high performance team! We're here to help you make our team! Let us know what high fruit assistance do you need?
I think I just need more raw friends:-)))
30bad is a fruit-focused vegan internet community which promotes a high carb fruit based vegan lifestyle free of any animal products. Our forum does not tolerate encouragement of anything contrary to this. Nor do we allow endorsement of non-vegan items or practises which involve the imprisonment, exploitation, abuse or murder of sentient beings. I will comply because I like totally agree with all this
To be honest, with all the time and efforts we've been putting into it, and knowing the details of the provisional budget for the event (which we can't afford to be wrong, because for us, the event is actually not affordable since we don't have any income for 5 years now, but know the price is set on expenses). So yes, it's kind of hurting, especially knowing what prominent people in the raw world are asking just to show up at events...
Check the activity schedule published on the site, to which we are still adding new activities.
To be honest, we offer everyone an event for about more than half of the price than others are doing it. But we still have to pay for the place where it will take place, the food, people to help us, transports, etc etc etc. It can't be free...
Seriously, until now we only had positive feedback of people being happy that we can put an affordable event like that, with all food included, activities, concerts at night, etc etc for 350 euros for the 4 nights, 5 days of the event.
If it's too expensive for you, I'm really sorry, but we can't put it cheaper. It's a big job only to source real fresh organic fruits for a big crowd, making sure everybody has more than his/her needs everyday, and ripe in time!!!
Great huts can be rented on koh pang ghan and the fruits are amazing!
Many of the street vendors are trained to say 'oh yea organic for sure' amongst the traveler crowd but the tastes were generally awesome and the natives are kind and bubbly...
oh, and i don't think that you have too much to worry about in traveling by yourself.. never did i feel that an area or situation i was in wasn't safe.. you'll mostly be around other young-ish travelers and if not it's usually thai families.. seems like the whole country is pretty family-oriented
i saw in debbie's thread that you were lookin for some info on thailand.. while i'm not a female and only spent about 9-10 days in the country, i did travel solo and was in SE asia for a month, so i thought i'd offer up just a few things
i landed in bangkok and was considering spending at least a night there before arriving, but the city was very overwhelming for me and my gut told me to leave right away.. tons of traffic, smog, noise and street hawkers, not to mention an abundance of the hippie backpacker crowd around kao san rd
i went straight to chanthaburi, which is known for its markets and fruit as there is an abundance of orchards in the surrounding area.. the city was definitely nice for a few days as it is easy to get around by foot and the markets are pretty awesome, but it's a city nonetheless.. 'the river guest house' is nice, right on the river, and only about 6-7 bucks per night.. if you go to chanthaburi you should check out khlong pliu waterfall for a nice day's hike and swim.. it's about 40 k outside the city and you can get a cab (swarnthong) near the fountain in the center of city for cheap
next i headed towarded koh chang to the south and spent a couple nights in trat which is the port city.. it also has good markets
koh chang has really pretty beaches and cool huts you can rent.. there aren't really the abundant markets around, but there are fruit stalls and even travelin fruit trucks, so you won't have a problem getting food.. there's also nice waterfalls & hiking here if you can get transport
i went to a couple other places but these were the highlights.. khao sok nat'l pk was nice but it's in the middle of nowhere and there's not much beyond the hiking and fruit is sparse.. i heard that the chiang mai in the north is pretty awesome but never got up that way
if you have the opportunity to get down to malaysia, penang island is pretty great and maybe my favorite place that i visited there, offering a bit of everything
