Business owner. Writer. High priority placed on learning - it's the stuff of life!

Beginning to travel around the world for 2ish years, starting Dec 31, 2015. Love nature, volunteering, quiet time alone, loud concerts with friends, beaches, and exploring.

Doggie "mommy." :)

What brought me to 30BaD has been in the works for many years, but I feel that I am just now beginning to hit my stride with it. Feel free to ask any questions, whether veteran or novice!

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
Roald Dahl is my all-time favorite author. He's such an insightful goofball. :)

Favorite pastimes... among many other things, sitting outside in our old covered porch during a thunderstorm.

Lifelong goals include a list of travel locations, learning to play the guitar (well), founding a charity, becoming the first female president, healing the world, spreading a loving spirit, and swimming with dolphins. Ya know, nothing super serious.
We recommend you purchase Freelee's ebook "Go fruit Yourself!". It is a must-read for newbies to the high carb raw vegan lifestyle.

At this point, my biggest struggle is between raw and cooked foods. It's a balancing act I haven't fully mastered yet.
30bad is a fruit-focused vegan internet community which promotes a high carb fruit based vegan lifestyle free of any animal products. Day 4

Posted on March 15, 2014 at 4:22pm 0 Comments

To be quick -

Did in fact need more coffee today. Sleep did not happen easily last night. Cup and 1/2, approx.

11ish bananas

25ish dates

3 strawberries

Large handful blackberries

2 cups spring mix

1 cup almond milk

10ish stalks of celery

About 2.5 liters of water right now, working on more

About 2 hours of walking today, to/from local store and then for a chat on the phone with close…

So, today was Day 3. Another fantastic day, until this evening. An old friend died, very suddenly.

This is a lot to take in right now. Wasn't even planning on posting today, but I think this blog and the HCRV concepts are going to be what help me through the next week or so... So here I am.

To be brief:

Probably 8-10 bananas (the ones I had seemed to ripen slower than anticipated, checked another store and tried to pick out a few that looked ripe…

Day 2

Posted on March 13, 2014 at 2:22pm 2 Comments

Technically, this isn't day 2 on my transition, but it's day 2 of tracking my work... so keeping it easy. haha

Also not going to tag this post. Not yet sure if this is what caused the issue, but I'm worried my blogs will end up in the wrong forum, and that's not my purpose for writing!

Tired at the moment (which is a GOOD sign, I've been an extreme night owl lately!), so to get to the point -

Approx. 15 bananas today (increase,…

Transitioning

Posted on March 12, 2014 at 4:01pm 2 Comments

There was a time in my life where I honestly didn't like bananas. Blasphemy, I know.

At this point, I think it was really just the fact that I always filled up on so many other foods... these real items, the right items, didn't taste sweet to me like they should. It wasn't that I ate fast food every day. The items society commonly considers "junk food" were rare. It's just that my diet had a serious priority place on whole grain, protein (from animals), and then vegetables…

From your profile, you are so honest with yourself and your self-reflections.  I think we both know the kind of personal growth that can occur with this level of honesty.

Allow me to offer a few suggestions if I may be so bold.

I've been living this lifestyle for some time now, when did this website start up?  4-5 years or so anyway.  Some keys for success that work for me:  Eat enough and don't get too hungry.  This is key.  When you are hungry, it is easiest to eat other foods.  Try to have variety on hand and keep some good juices in the fridge.  I mix mine with water.

Get used to buying cases of bananas and start a ripening conga line so you have some ripe bananas every day.  In colder climates, use paper bags and throw an apple in there.  Some stores will ripen their bananas better than others.  Ask if they put them in cold storage at the end of the day...you don't want this.

Use a blend of medjool dates and water for caloric blasts and in a pinch.

Have a back-up plan for when ripe fruit is just not available.  It will happen.  100% is not easy, so don't beat yourself up about it.  If I have to, I steam yams, zucchini, and peas, for last meal of day ideally.

Try to eat a salad a day.  Don't be afraid of avocados, but don't overeat them of course.

Maybe this helps....I'm around if you have any questions, but there are heaps of us now, so you should have no trouble getting support.  Happy for you!
