Last year as I wrote a paper for health class on the importance of eating your greens, I came across the trailer for "Earthlings" & I was absolutely disgusted. It immediately turned me into a vegan. I had never in a million years thought I would become a vegan, and overnight at that! As the months rolled on, I looked more and more into nutrition. I started to understand the importance of not taking information regarding diet at face value, but instead to look into who produced the research and what they had to gain. I read 80/10/10 & Loved it. I then read The China Study and devoured it ;) . I watched countless documentaries such as Forks over Knives, Farmageddon, Food Inc........and I couldn't stop seeking information regarding the food we eat and why, and how it affects us. I started watching The Life Regenerators videos on YouTube, and Ka Sundance, Easy to be Raw....and finally I came across Freeleas channel and was instantly hooked. I had never heard of people eating primarily fruit until I found 80/10/10 & Freeleas' videos. It made absolute sense to me. I've always loved sugary foods, I just didn't realize that that was exactly what my body needed and would thrive on. I was trying to make myself eat lots of veggies, rice, whole wheat pasta, some tofu, nuts and seeds, oils, olives, homemade bread....I enjoyed what I was eating, but not nearly as much as I enjoyed eating fruit! Now i am consuming fruit only for breakfast, and snacks. I am aiming to have a fruit only lunch as well, and stick with a cooked high carb vegan supper for the time being. I find my body craves the fruit and I never get sick of it, and it never makes me feel sick like many other foods do. It's super easy to eat fruit, just wash, peel and go. No big clean up from cooking. It's very affordable. I plan on going to a wholesale this weekend for my bananas from now on. Others are so interested in my diet and are implementing changes as well. People always feel the need to tell me when they've eaten healthy or exercised because to them I am the crazy girl who eats primarily raw organic fruit and veg. I have always been super active: I run 10 km 3 times a week, I weight train 3 times a week, I do yoga daily, I walk and ride my bike everywhere all year round, and I live in the North! I have more energy than ever. I sleep better than ever. My moods are stabalizing. My monthly visitor is almost unnoticable now. I am getting leaner and leaner. My cravings are going away. My concentration is better...........I plan on living this way for the rest of my life. I have always been a thin person, 5ft3 and never more than 115lbs, but for the past while I have become a lean mean muscle building machine. I still have a long way to go, but I can see such a huge change in my body. I am no longer skinny, I am a FIT Bitch!

The Importance of Exercise

Posted on November 23, 2014 at 2:06am 0 Comments

So for the past few months I have been in somewhat of a funk. Sure school is always a little stressful but I haven't had to work much this semester & my course load hasn't been overwhelming, so why am I feeling down? I cannot believe it took nearly 3 months for me to figure out that it's because I have not been exercising the way I used to! I used to hit the gym 3 times a week for pretty intense one hour super set sessions, 3 days a week I would go for 10-15 km runs, I also use to do…

The Cleaner the Diet gets the Cleaner it has to get!

Posted on November 6, 2014 at 12:34pm 2 Comments

For the past couple of months now I have really cleaned up my diet. What I consider to be 'treats' now don't agree with me so much. I gave up coffee except for one cup of decaf a week; now I feel like junk afterwards, have bad breath, my urnine reeks (sorry tmi! but it's true!) & I'm dehydrated. If I have chocolate once a week I only want more & I am wired all night. If I have potato chips once a week I could easily put myself into a chip coma, so addicting & I feel all heavy…

Hoping you guys can help me out; What causes seborrheic dermatitis & how can it be cured naturally?

Posted on October 19, 2014 at 2:00am 2 Comments

Hi all, not really sure who to ask so I thought I'd see if any of you 30 Badders could help me out! My ex husband has been suffering from seborrheic dermatitis for about a decade now & he has tried all of the doctor recomended "treatments" with mediocre success, the harsh chemicals help to keep it under control most of the time but it does flare up if he doesn't use the shampoo regularly. I hate to see him use those chemicals on his body, waste his money & never be able to get rid of…

Looking forward to the next year of my journey

Posted on October 1, 2014 at 12:31am 1 Comment

So today is my Birthday & it feels different from every other birthday I've had: This year there is no 'treating myself' to a pumpkin latte, huge supper at my favorite chinese food restaurant, fancy chocolates from the local chocolate maker, or chinese fruit cake. This year has started with a 6 am wakeup, some yoga, lemon water, & writing this post. My day is going to be filled with bananas, a leisurely bike ride through the river valley, & spending time with my ex-husband (who…
