My story: When I first found the raw foods diet in 2011- I was obsessed with getting all the information I could in deparation to clear my skin and lose weight. It was in January 2012 when I started eating 100% raw. But, after more than a month of eating a low-fat, low-calorie, low-fruit- raw diet, I was losing it! I was also burning a lot of calories. I did body weight exercises for about 20 minutes, 7 out of 9 days, during which I was only eating 5-15 pieces of fruit a day- mostly apples! I did lose weight, but what I was doing was unsustainable, and I fell off 'the wagon' back into the SAD diet.

I also had little support from my family, who didn't understand me at first.

It wasn't until August 2012 that I finally got my s*** together and went back to focusing on fruit and raw foods.

Although, after having fell off the wagon I tried losing weight with several other plans- like fasting, (for 10 days, twice), a low-carb (less than 50g carbs daily) HIGH-FAT 'diet' (Butter and Coffee) from the Eating Academy (who now sells GMO starch), and also a diet from "The Weight Loss Cure" by Kevin Trudeau- promoting injections of pregnant women's pee for weight loss (which I didn't do, but certainly fell for).

I still was making mistakes even on a predominaantly Raw Vegan diet, however, which included: consuming falsely labeled, GMO LACED,​ Naked Juice, from Pepsi, Co., honeycomb (which is actually like waxy bee structures covered in flowery vomit), ew, and Nori seaweed, which is not vegan, and is bathed in radiation from fukushima, not to mention, "All so-called algae or seaweeds are made up of primitive animal cells called protists and are cyano-bacteria or flagellates - tiny animal cells!" I also didn't own a blender until May 2013, which made eating bananas a chore at times.
Things were going well and I had lost a significant amount of weight on a fruit and vegetable diet, no doubt about that. That was until I got into a car accident in June of 2013- and fractured my scapula. After being stuck on the couch reading feng-shui books and spending some time with my mom in her van, I caved in and ate some brown rice because of some bad oranges I had eaten. This lead to me eating cooked food regularly sine it was so addictive, and even including sea salt- both made me gain weight. I found that I had less energy and carried around extra jiggles from water retention (which are not fun to exercise with). I gained body weight because I had previously starved myself for weight loss, which damaged my metabolism.
During my time eating cooked foods I made a couple more mistakes. One time I ate meat in a pasta dish by accident. The day afterwards I got my menstrual (which is not a sign of health, read more here: http://pumpkinberry.blogspot.com/2013/11/mans-true-hate-period.html) and simultaneously felt a deep sorrow for the cow (meat) that I had consumed.
I also consumed milk (not sure what kind(s)) in some mashed potatoes that I thought my boyfriend had made- but it was actually his dad that made them. The next morning I had dark circles under my eyes- not to mention I felt upset when I first realized I had consumed a factory-farmed breast-milk product. Last but not least, I had some (bee-vomit) honey- which didn't even taste good, and made my stomach hurt!!
All in all, since going back to cooking food, I've gone through periods where I cut out salt and oil (which is vital for clear skin), and where I go Fully Raw (which is the epitome of clear skin). I really enjoy eating 90/5/5 Raw Vegan, but I cannot afford it. I am proud to say however, that I have eaten 80/10/10 Raw Vegan Style for a year when piecing all the time-periods together! ^_^ Gotta love the Fruits of Mother Nature! <3
