I am in recovery from Anorexia Nervosa - Binge/Purge Subtype. Through a diet mostly dedicated to frutitarianism, vegan, mostly raw, high in carbohydrates, low in protein, and fluctuating from lowest levels of fat achieved through a diet of (high carbohydrate) fruit -through- days of eating (high fat) fruit providing up to 2,400 kilo calories in fats alone (usually avocados), I have recieved the return of my menses after only one month of my return to an ethical vegan lifestyle. I ate free-range organic pasture-fed eggs (chicken and duck), as well as organic raw cheese (sheep, goat, cow), and unhomogenized pasture-fed organic yogurts, for the first month of my recovery, although my diet was the same as it is now in all other ways. I did not choose this lifestyle, I chose to listen to my body, and ultimately, my heart. I am still working on finding what works best for me and supplies my body with the steady flow of nourishment it needs. I initially gained weight and lost weight during the first month, perhaps settling at only a few pounds more than I weighed before I started to eat again, due to "bad days". I am now maintaining my weight fairly stable, or was until this last month where I have perhaps slowely lost the weight I gained in the first place. I believe that if I have recieved the return of my period, than there is nothing wrong with my low weight, or small size, as I have naturally always been a small person. The only weight I've gain is in water, and I still struggle with flaring up of abdominal bloating, which mostly went away after I became vegan. I weighed a dehydrated 90 pounds at 5'2" tall (bust= 30.75" waist= 23" hips= 29.75" thighs= 14.75") and now weigh apx. 100 pounds (bust= 32" waist= 23" hips= 29.75" thighs= 14.75"). I peaked at 109 pounds (bust= 32.5" waist= 31" hips= 30.5" thighs= 15.75"). I do not follow anyone's diet because my diet is for me, my body, my genetics, my ancestor week background, and my ethical thinking. However, Freelee's high carb - low protein "Raw Till 4" advice is sound advice to many people, and this forum is the only place I can find a community of fruititarians, so despite my oersonal need for extra fat (due to having perhaps 05% bodyfat), I appreciate my inclusion into this community, and again, I need fat in my diet, and certain foods which contain fat for the healing effect of their nutritional content, as well as because of my malnourished, deadly low body fat levels. Please do not follow my way of life. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!
