In October 2010 I moved to The Creative Health Institute in Union City Michigan to learn the Ann Wigmore Raw Living Foods Diet. I stayed there for almost 2 years and stayed 100 percent raw and organic for about 6 months and then gradually started to eat more cooked foods. Eventually, I just totally fell off the wagon. I got so confused!!!! Dr. Terry Wahl, who like me, has MS, says you need to eat grass fed beef and fish to heal MS. And then people started criticizing me for eating CARROTS because they are HIGH IN SUGAR and I am a SUGAR ADDICT. I am a refined sugar addict and have addressed it for years in various ways. I am going to try this 80 10 10 way of eating out and have ordered Douglas Graham's book. When I was most peaceful as a raw vegan I was eating as much fruit as I wanted every day and very few nuts. So it makes sense to me. I hope the transition is easy for me. I have been struggling to stay raw for the past few months and have been unable to stay raw for more than about 6 weeks for the past 2 years. I hope this is the answer. I appreciate tips on low-cost produce shopping because money is an issue for me at the moment.

Hanging out with my sweet boyfriend, Rob, painting, writing, gentle yoga and watching netflix shows. Ideally I would be doing more advanced Yoga and sailing and living a more vibrant life but I am suffering from weight gain and MS at the moment and trying to get back to optimal health.

Dropped 8 pounds in 2 Weeks on Banana Island

I love banana island. I was at the doctor today and according to his scale I've dropped 8 pounds in 2 weeks on Banana Island.

I guess I eat about 90 percent fruit, mostly blended into smoothies but sometimes I get a hankering for a whole pineapple or half a watermelon. I eat a few raw almonds, some chia seeds, the occasional head of romaine lettuce, some kale or some carrots....

I'm no newbie to a raw vegan lifestyle - but I'm new to the hig carb fruity lifestyle and after 10 days on the island, I'm loving it. I eat intuitively, whenever I feel hungry and I am eating about 90 percent fruit, mostly bananas. When I went raw the first time in Oct. 2010, I did the Ann Wigmore Diet with about 6 cups of sprouts a day (mostly blended into green energy soup) and 3 to six shots of wheatgrass daily. Hello fellow banana eaters...

I just wanted to report that things are going well. I like my bananas and feel very peaceful with my eating.

I'm doing more like 10 or 12 bananas a day -- not 30 like some of you. But that seems to be enough for me with my current level of physical activity. I'm no tri-athlete. I'm a 48-year-old woman battling Multiple Sclerosis.

Sometimes I do my bananas in smoothies and sometimes I just eat them up.

I'm Eating Bananas, Not Drinking Smoothies

The allergies or cold I have been suffering from have given me a tickle in my throat. Drinking cold beverages makes it worse. So I haven't done many smoothies although I have been 100 percent raw and vegan since Saturday and it feels good and peaceful. I've been eating lots of bananas.
