As a third grade teacher years ago, I tried my hand at a cooked vegan lifestyle for almost two months. My oldest son was even enjoying the recipes I prepared. I was feeling better, but then I went back to eating what unhealthy people call "normal." I did this for several years continuing to feel like crap, gaining weight, increasing acne breakouts - you know the story. Then, almost 3 years ago, I met my husband... the man I knew with whom I would spend the rest of my life. A year before I met him, I was a whopping 264 lbs!!! However, when he and I married, I had managed to gain and lose, gain and lose through bouts of depression, and on our wedding day I was almost 230 lbs! My husband was only 185 lbs at the time. So, one year ago, I had tried every diet in the book, and my husband realized NOTHING was working. He saw my diligence, and he wanted to help. We started researching the benefits of juicing thanks to Joe Cross. In February, I completed a 4 day juicing and lost 10 pounds. It was extremely difficult for me, but I did it and I felt better. We read books, watched videos, talked with others, and since I work for a nutrition company, I had access to a plethora of information on healthy eating for healthy organs and healthy body. Within 2013, I completed a 10-day juicing in June and a 20-day juicing in December. Because we knew so much about the farm industry, specifically animal processing, we totally wanted to "revamp" our eating habits. (I say we because my awesome husband does all this with me.) My husband stumbled upon vegan eating, which jogged my memory on my previous habits. He and I immediately embraced these habits. Now, for almost 2 months, we have felt so great eating this way. Then, last night, we were looking for videos on starting our own smoothie business when we happened upon Freelee's videos! To our amazement, she promoted high carbs (in the forms of raw fruits and veggies)! This was foreign information to me, not so much my husband because he's not originally from the U.S. where we slaughter our meat and eat rotted flesh. So, this morning, I went to the store and bought 90 bananas! Only half were organic because they are still green. The others were ripe, so I had to buy those for today and tomorrow! I'm so excited and can't wait to learn more!!!

Right now, I'm watching videos to find out exactly what to do on a daily basis. So, of course, we've already adopted the vegan lifestyle... well, the cooked version. We were already juicing oranges, carrots, and spinach for a breakfast juice along with eating a lot of fruit. We typically don't eat fruit the rest of the day because we learned about the order of food that's proper for the body. What we need to know is how to tie in this raw food vegan plan with working so many hours everyday. For instance, I need to take a lot of bananas with me to work. What else do I need in order to adopt this lifestyle? I'm doing this to feel better, to repair my organs from eating so poorly, for better digestion, and of course to shed about 70 lbs, maybe more if I look and feel better. I know from one of your vids I should expect loose skin; however, what exercises can I do to try to tighten as I go? Problem areas are my upper thighs, upper arms, and of course my lower belly. Thank you so much for helping the rest of us become as healthy as you!
