Hey Mark! I am the first generation here too! My family has gone pretty much 811 so it isn't as difficult as it would be if I lived with my family from Poland (they all live there still!) But I am certainly surrounded by the Polish community where I am always questioned and told what is better for my health with all the Polish foods like sauerkraut and potatoes (with bacon and oil), and pickles! lol
