I went from high protein to veg. diet about 4 years ago and from go (eating vegetarian) I experienced weight gain, fatigue and crazy sugar cravings. Through lots of struggle and research I came across raw vegan diets in Jan 2013.
I started and stuck with loads of juicing and eating massive amounts of fruit and veg for about 4 months. My eyes were bright, my skin was clear and mostly my energy started to improve. And then, with travelling, cold weather (and outside questing about my diet habits) I slipped back into sugary unrestrained eating habits.
In March of this year I moved to beautiful QLD, but away from my family and friends, and found myself eating a block of chocolate most afternoons for a 'pick me up'. I felt, gross and ashamed and my clothes were getting tight.
I found a raw-till-4 video in July and felt excited by the possibility of being 'allowed' to eat sweet foods. I have a long history of disordered eating and addiction and so giving myself permission to eat and my body the chance to really get nourished is super precious. However..... because of disordered eating I have been really cautious to talk about changing my diet, except with people who really love me. Also I wanted to get some practice and stick with it before too much questioning or criticism from outsiders.
Since the start of August I have mostly raw-till-4'd (I had 2 weeks of massive fail start of September) and kept a food diary. I haven't been on the scales, nor am I measuring, but I've had 3 people ask me this past week if I've lost weight. I really want this lifestyle to work for me and I'd love to find some friends who share fruit fuelled energy and enthusiasm for life.
