Been attempting a Raw diet for over a month now and came across this site over a week ago, I find it really interesting so thought I'd sign up as it appears this site has a lot of good information that will keep me on the raw track and eating the right foods and I've been using exercise tips from the site. Reading books that have been mentioned on here. All in all I'm raw and going to stay raw and this site is a wonderful guide and reference for me. Before I became raw I was vegetarian, my relationship with my girlfriend wasn't good for a long time so we ended it, I haven't been enjoying my job for about a year so I told them that I was only going to work one day a week which they agreed to. So from that moment I guess I've been inviting happiness into my life and the raw food thing just sort of felt right. I didn't make a conscious decision at first I was just eating lots of fruit anyway and juicing my green veggies and herbs. I worked in a kitchen with terrible hours so it was hard to juice every day and I ate mostly cooked food mainly because that's what I craved while in the kitchen environment but since leaving it I've been drawn as I've mentioned to raw foods. And it's the best thing that's happened to me. I'm happier and healthier and I want to get more knowledge on nutrition, exercise, meditation and all the other good stuff linked with nature and green living. Quite a ramble, I hope that's coherent.

I'm new to the lifestyle so I guess any and all information is appropriate. I'm looking to start a proper running schedule because at the minute I'm just doing it every other day and halfassing it.

Hey! Haha good one!! Sunny today though! I know the selection really isn't great is it? I'm lucky here because these lovely guys from Wicklow come to the farmers market in gorey of a Saturday and give me organic fruits and veggies at wholesale price.. 18kg of organic bananas 30 euro and 5kg of organic dates or 55.. He gives me freebies sometimes too :) I know the organic supermarket (google them) deliver to any county for 6.50 that could be a good place to look?? Hope you have a good day :) xxxx
yes you can barter alot there too! become a regular customer and they'll probably give you alot of discounts. i'm in the transitioning process i eat mostly raw fruit and veg but sometimes i have to opt for rice or lentils to get the cals in! tins of kidney beans in aldi are not exactly raw but theyre high carb, low fat and are 17 cent a tin so i've been eating alot of those, what about you? some day i hope to be 100% raw! are you studying anything interesting here in galway? there are some great courses in NUI
i'm from galway! its pretty bad (fruit wise) , there is a market open in town full of fresh fruit and veg and there is a great atmosphere but it's only open on saturdays! other then that not much :( supermarket price for 5 bananas is usually about 1.50
