Hello, I'm a pastor who stumbled upon some raw youtube videos about hcrv eating. It looks cool so I'm giving it a try.

4 months on hcrv

Posted on April 29, 2013 at 3:28pm 6 Comments

Well, this was the end of my preliminary experiment with this lifestyle and diet.  In the past few months, I've switched to a plant strong diet.  I've tried to go for vegan low-fat.  I've tried to have at least 2 fruit meals a day.  I've tried to eliminate animal products from my diet.  I've not be 100% successful on any of these goals but I'm convinced that I'm heading in the right direction.  It is normal for me to have bananas for breakfast, dates for lunch and rice for supper.…

1 month on hcrv

Posted on February 5, 2013 at 6:48am 3 Comments

So I've done my experimental month on hcrv.  I appear to be loosing 1 lb per week.  I feel great, my clothes are getting bigger, and I am enjoying this diet.  I'm really not missing meat.  I do have a politeness clause in my personal policy.  Often meals are provided for me and for Church members and I have a policy of eating whatever is put in front of me in the healthiest manner possible.  So while I'm not 100% anything, the consistent normal 2-3 meals of fruit and vegetables are so much…

I'm Sold

Alright, I'm sold.  I have a few more days before the end of the month.  I'm sold on the results.  I've consistently lost a pound a week on this diet.  As a lifestyle, I feel great.  I am happy with myself in a way that I've never been.  I eat as much as I want without shame.  I feel like I trust my body.  In my Christian tradition there is often a tradition of pitting one's spirit against one's body.  This lifestyle has really put a stop to that in regards to eating.  I hope this doesn't…

Carbs for Christ!

Recap:  I'm a pastor in smalltown Texas.  I'm trying veganism this month to evaluate how I feel.  I'm shooting for as much hclf raw vegan as is convenient this month.  Last night I hit a breakthrough as my theologies, plans, prayer, and goals just merged with this whole "health" model.  With a lifestyle such as this, I will be able to be mentally, physically, and spiritually capable of serving the Church as a pastor for longer in my life.  So instead of retiring at 65, I could conceivably…
