Well, I've been a cook forever- since the age of 12 when my mother declared that if I wanted to be a vegetarian I would have to learn how to prepare it myself! I have been on a life-long journey searching for the best diet for my body; I've always felt that whole foods are the best foods, and after reading 80-10-10 this year, realized that this is the ultimate whole-foods diet. I was excited to try it out, and have been following the magic formula now for 3 months. I have spent a lot of time on You Tube, watching and learning, and would like to be more active in a sharing community. My body is loving 80-10-10, and I have kicked some bad habits out of my life for good. I am getting more active and seeing changes in my body every day.

I'm into Keylontic Science, sci-fi, singing songs, eating fruit, picking berries, dancing to happy beats and reading whatever good novels come my way. Recently, addicted to raw food lifestyle channels on You Tube.

The Practice of Living Well

Posted on November 3, 2013 at 5:17am 0 Comments

Well, it's been two months since I started to focus on regular exercise and strength training. The fact that it feels like much longer is a testament to my history of 'giving up'- that is, putting in a burst of energy to a new plan, and then letting it slide after an initial effort. I am an aries, after all, so I'm really good with that cardinal fire, the spark that starts something up, and then fizzles out quickly. The spring is really my time. All that new and bursting forth gives me such…

My Sugar Addiction (Thank You Doug Graham)

Posted on October 26, 2013 at 5:57am 1 Comment

My mom did the best she knew how to do in feeding our family- home-cooked was the norm and sweets were desserts, candy virtually unheard of. That is, until we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house, where the sky was the limit! I remember my summer visits as an orgy of bubblegum and soda pop and anything made of sugar I could ever want or dream of! At some point, I became possessed with the desire to put something sweet in my mouth- almost anything, although cookies would be the drug of choice;…

Getting off my butt!!

Posted on September 7, 2013 at 11:34am 1 Comment

Well, September is here and the tourists have departed! I've started to really look forward to the fall now that I work in a place that is tourist-dependant. Work takes all of my energy, August has been intense. Coming home and sitting down is all I feel like doing. I'm suddenly noticing weight gain and lethargy! So up and doing some hill runs today to get started, and a walk before dinner. Tomorrow will be my first weight session, which I have been only thinking about for a couple of months…

The Beauty of Fruity Poetry- what really made my day

Posted on August 25, 2013 at 12:41pm 0 Comments

Just had to share this synchronicity, it really made me happy today! This is a follow-up to a reply I wrote to Fruit of Life's query on ideas for a a vegan signature the other day.  My idea was a line that came to me in the moment: For health, in truth, the only flesh one ought to eat is that of fruit!.  I felt pleased with my little line of poetry, it made me think of an old-style English poem. I haven't ever read or studied classic poetry and I was thinking that I would like to…

Kaslo!  Oh that's awesome.  I grew up in Castlegar.  I'm in the Okaganan for the time being - now fully realizing what an amazing, special place the Kootenays are.  I didn't have a clue just how different the culture was here until I moved.  You said it's -15 there, too?  And here I've been missing the mild Kootenay winters...
