Haha...Thanks Jaime :) i'm glad you like my hair :D
Hmm....15hr security shifts usually involve: identifying intoxicated people and removing them from the premises, responding to incidents, deploying staff, roaming around to try and find any possible hazards to people, and other mundane things...lol..not overly stimulating mentally....but it can be exciting at times I guess :)
Hey JP, thanks for the info! :) I am aware of the health hazards of working there, in addition to the horrible way we are treated on the job. However, you will be happy to know I am only here for another month due to economic reasons and I will be throwing in the towel forever before I return to college :) This spring I am rushing to Whole Foods to apply for a summer job because it is the most ethical place to work around here (plus I want discounts on organic fruit!!! :)) I genuinely appreciate your concern though, and I hope you find luck in finding a job soon! ~Amber
Hey JP, that's hilarious! Hey, can you send me that song? I actually have never heard it! When I got into Ohio for grad school this past fall, I decided to start 811 full on, and somewhere earned the name Veggie Mike from a few of my friends. I actually think it's pretty funny, and hey, it's better than Fruity Mike :)
PS- congrats on committing to 100% lfrv! I'm psyched for you!
Hey thanks for the words, right there with you on so many started and failed attemps etc, so true the heart has to b n it for sure. Read ur stuff on the depression group girl and I was right there with you, hit rockbottom etc over the holidays it was rough...even blogged on there as well thnk god liam created that i dont feel sane without 811
on a brighter note hope you have a wonderful week,
Thanks for the update. Wondered about your hike. As you noticed, have taken a hike of my own, so to speak, from the board for a while. Work and love related, though, no conflicts. All is better than ever. Am still 100% 955... Great news about you jumping in again! Morrison sang about his "soul kitchen" but "fruit kitchen" seems more pratical and appealing to me, lol. All the best with yours...
I'm an ultralight backpacker who has done some section hiking on the AT. Since I started packing lots of fresh fruit my pack is much heavier (but it's so worth it.) This past year I mostly did long day hikes, and being out only 8-10 hours I find 100% fruit works fine for me, (but I do pack Raw Rev bars, nuts & seeds, goji berries just in case) I'm on the AT or the Long Path at least once a week (Harriman State Park, NY ) but in very cold weather I don't stay on it as long as I'd like.
