Harley's You-tube clips virtually saved my life in 2010 -2012 when I went down with undiagnosed Ross River Fever and Glandular at the same time. I was in bed for 13 months unable to work or walk or think due to extreme brain fog. Then I discovered Harley showing off on You-tube about his blood test results which showed that he had low B12 and that he would as a result get a shot of B12. I started researching B12 deficiency and I seemed to have all the symptoms. So that some day I made a doctor's appointment, ended up there with my own B12 shots but had to put on one hell of a turn just to get a shot. The rest is a long story which I will share later but from there I followed Harley's advice and read 80 10 10 and had other mentors too, locally to encourage me to convert to go full low-fat raw.
But of course getting well and returning to work had its price because I fell of the wagon many times being around a bunch of the worst (heathen's) I call them. However I was vegetarian before I went raw so eating meat just doesn't come into the equation.
Nonetheless cooked food as well as a serious tea and coffee addiction soon crept up and took over me because I had returned to a high stress position, and so of course once slim figure and clear skin were lost.
But then I come across Freelee's transition diet advice and I was on it for about 4 months and honestly without her mentoring I would never be where I am now - fully low-fat raw with no addictions to tea or coffee.
And it is so easy to source top quality banana's both lady-figures and Cavs where I live.

Back on the Raw Vegan Wagon - Missed you Guys

Posted on October 16, 2014 at 6:04pm 0 Comments

Hey guys have been away from 30Bad for a few months now. Gees missed you guys. Fell off the wagon for a time; got slightly carried way with cooked vegan food. I guess just being lazy and uncommitted. Certainly my weight crept up again after losing 13kg easy peasy on 100% for forty days during winter, would you believe.

What kicked my butt to get back and bother to squeeze juice and make smoothies? I guess low energy and the fear of going back to the weight I was.

Also the major…

Day 22 - Over 50 Raw Vegan 40 Day Challenge

Posted on August 3, 2014 at 5:30pm 3 Comments

The scales this morning read 85kg – a total loss of 9kg, 7kg over the past 22 days. Unbelievable – I stuff myself with fruit and greens and I lose this amount of weight with little to no exercise. I am blown away. When I think about all the month’s I wasted bothering to push myself to swim and go walking and work out at a gym after a long day at work, but all I lost was 2kgs at the most over a 2-3 year period.

And here was the answer to not only to losing weight but also…

Day 21 - Over 50 Fully Raw Vegan 40 Day Challenge

Posted on August 2, 2014 at 5:00pm 2 Comments

Feeling really tired today. Didn’t wake up till 8.00am. I am not sick and my back is not hurting, I just feel chilled to the point I don’t feel like doing anything but researching the net for ‘No dig’ gardening inspiration.

Just now I have come across The Crab Syndrome that explains why many times my so-called friends have been against me taking this road, losing weight and getting healthy. It goes like this: while gazing into a bucket of crabs, I have noticed…

Day 20 - Halfway mark to Over 50 Fully Raw Vegan Challenge

Posted on August 1, 2014 at 5:00pm 1 Comment

Today marks the half way mark my 40 day challenge to eat 100% raw. Honestly at this stage I am feeling as if I should and could up counting because I really believe there will be no end to it. Why - because to date I have gone from 94kgs to 86kgs which is a loss of 8kgs in total, but to be fair I did loose 2kgs before I started the raw food diet just by giving up tea and coffee the week before.

So in actual fact in twenty days I have lost 6kgs. And I mean I have really lost…

Hi Haven. Was my reply to your thread about nightmares improperly direct and personal, do you think? Should I delete it? Or did you like it instead? I don't want to offend anyone, but maybe I was just to raw (no pun intended)?

Glad we can be friends as well! Sorry so long getting back to you, I have been working crazy hours. To answer your question, we live in an apartment, so it's hard to grow much. I usually grow herbs. I'm hoping we are going to move in to a house this year so we can have a garden. It would be great! It's winter here now, so not growing anything at the moment. Thankfully the stores have a pretty wide variety of fruits. That's definitely helpful. I need to find a local co-op to buy from, it's definitely more cost-effective. So you do you grow a fair amount of your food?

Too late - we're pals already and that's it!!!

No plans for stage work in the near future, but love the idea...stealing it from you. And...of course I'll have a special invite rehearsal for just pals so I can get more ideas from you and steal those, too!

Sending you underwear for the holidays! Least I can do! ;)

Thank you! It's been a long road for me, I used to eat such crap! But I decided when my daughter was 2, that I wanted to be better-for both of us. I couldn't play with her without getting tired quickly, and I couldn't do many of the things that I really loved. A friend of mine mentioned a modified Atkins diet that she had done that worked for her, and I dedicated myself to it. I was never willing to sacrifice eating fruits from my diet, and I believe it's one of the reasons I did so well for so long. When I lost my Gramps, I went through a terrible time. He helped raise me, was always there for me, and it's been a rough adjustment not having him here. I'm glad that Harley and Freelee are getting the message out about HCRV.
My daughter is a social butterfly, she loves people, and we attend workshops at a local church weekly. We enjoy the sense of community.
I only wish I could convince my husband that HCRV would be better for him than being a meathead.
I'm jealous that you live in beautiful Australia!

Hi Haven, Thanks for the warm welcome! There's so much info on this site that it seems I will never catch up with it all. That's OK, though. It's all good.

Thank you, Haven (love your name BTW).

That means a lot as being able to provide such assistance is one of my main reasons for being a part of this community.

I'll see you on the boards :)
