I've always been a an animal and nature lover, but I grew up eating anything including meat and dairy. As I grew up and became more aware, I became a vegetarian. My family would always tell me to make sure I supplemented and got the right nutrition if I was cutting out something *so nutritious* as meat and dairy. This was about 4 years ago. So I began getting into health foods to ensure I was getting everything my body required. About 2 years into vegetarianism I got quite sick with candida. It's now almost 2 years later and I am still somewhat suffering. I was first put on the "anti-candida" diet by my naturopath (cut out all sugar including fruit). I have always been slim and athletic, and never had weight issues or metabolic damage. I grew up always choosing fruit over any other sweets, and naturally chose a high carb diet. However switching to the anti candida diet was I thought the only option - so I did (even though I craved fruit like crazy). I was on that diet for around 10 months and began reintroducing certain foods - only to have my symptoms come back. I was depressed, I had gained the most weight ever in my life (cellulite on my belly! And I've always had a 6 pack as a gymnast when younger) from the high fat diet and I knew I couldn't continue without fruit. I felt bland.
Even when on the candida diet - I would never restrict .. I ate a lot thinking that no matter what I wouldn't put on weight because I had cut out sugar - I was very wrong.

So a couple of months ago, I found the raw till 4 vegan lifestyle. And here I am :)
