Wanting the Best, Needing something Better!

On black Friday, the consumer world that we live in goes crazy. I willingly was dragged into the hype by my husband, who has been after a few big ticket items, mainly a TV. We currently don't have a TV and I would be happy if we never have a TV. (Youtube plus an occasional movie on the laptop is good enough for me). Of course, being married, it is OUR money and he wanted my input on preferences: size, plasma vs. LCD vs. LED., budget, etc... We had our budget set, and he was deciding between…

Up and Downs

It's been just over a month since I've started my HCRV lifestyle. The first two weeks were incredible: energy beyond belief, appetite, clearnmindedness, perfect elimination, great sleep. Then things started to get a little weird. My appetite was spotty, I broke out a little on my face, weird sensations in my mouth, cankersores, tired, fatigue, less energy. I have since been making a solid effort at getting more sleep (9+ hours/night) and been staying on the HCRV diet of course, no regrets.…

yes it is karma!! before i realized all of the fat in their food and oils, it was my fav restaurant, well, basically the only one i could eat at with a bunch of options lol (cooked vegan at that time).  thats so exciting your husband is catching on!! i hope to find a 811rv fruity man, thatd b so exciting.  I dont know if i could date a SAD eater without feeling nauseous and uncomfortable everytime they ate and all that haha.  Thats amazing about your dad!! My dads side of the family is 95% overweight and eats horribly, 1 has had skin cancer and 2 or 3 have diabetes from diet.  Ya when people say all that funny stuff to me i just sigh and usually tell them to read the book or i just dont bother lol.  I know what u mean about eating and not feeling guilty, i had a few months when i was severely restricting cals and exercising a lot to then later on get told i was fat at the celtics dancer audition (i was in the best shape id ever been in) Theyre crazy anyways, and stiff! haha.  Ive never willingly let myself eat so much, its so nice to not have to worry about that, when it was ALL i would think about with counting cals and o i cant have that and only a little of this.  I dont plan on giving up this way of eating, bring on the crappy detox feelings haha.  Ive been through so much medically already that i would never go back to eating the way we arent fit to eat, and fruits too yummy! :D I didnt fit in with my schools either, i was always a loner, bullied from 3rd grade-freshman yr at college.  I know what u mean about not fitting in, and hey who wants to?! being unique is way better :) And i work at Fitzwillys, probably busiest restaurant in noho so im glad i got in there, i just wish it was karma that was so busy, i need my tips! lol.  I would go over to karma in a heartbeat to work but at this point its about that money lol.  Thats so funny we started around the same time!! i went overnight as well!  I love this site, i cant talk about my feelings about the diet anywhere else comfortably.  I had a few slipups in the beginning of my journey cuz of not having ripe bananas, and having no choice but to have something cooked vegan, and man did i feel horrible! shows how much this is the best thing for u :) i hope you come visit out here and we can meet someday!! :D

o wow!!! im so excited to hear ur actually from around here!  too bad for me youre in utah now, wouldve been fun to meet up and eat fruit!!  I went to hampshire regional high school and then easthampton high later on!  So far i havent met anyone yet that shares my eating ways to the 811 standards, but i did have one vegan friend, then he moved to PA!  now im vegan friend-less haha.  I get all of the same questions and curiosities about what i eat that we on here all face (protein, sugar, etc).  i havent had anyone actually give me a hard time or tell me im crazy, so thats good, a cook in the restaurant i work in even tried eating just bananas, mangos, and dates for 2 days!!! I think the vegan ways are starting to catch on in northampton.  There is actually a restaurant that is completely vegan, but its definitely extreme high fat vegan.  They have raw dishes as well, but they have all of the oils and nuts and everything in them.  I even got a comment like "what?? just fruit?" from someone that worked there when i asked if they had any raw dishes w/ no oils in it.  She hadnt even heard of 811 lol.  Im basically my own support, no one in my family is vegan.  My family doesnt bash me for it, they do support it, so its nice.  i know they have a group on here that is for boston people that i joined, and they have fruit lucks sometimes (i havent gone to one yet because of work) but maybe he could go to one of those!
