I'm a 39 year old respiratory therapist in Omaha, NE. I'm a pretty healthy person but I have always followed a rather traditional western diet. As I'm getting older, staying fit is getting harder and I've been having allergy and blood pressure issues. I just became a father about 6 months ago and I need to ensure that I'm healthy a fit so that I can enjoy a long life with my boy. I've done tons of different meal plans and training programs but I've never tried a diet without animal based proteins. I am currently 3 days in and already starting to feel better. I'm less lethargic, BP is already improving, skin is looking better, and I feel less tired. I'm looking forward to sharing my experience with this life change and also continuing to grow and learn.

6 weeks in and feeling great!

Well I am 6 weeks into my life change and I feel amazing. I set a 90 day weight loss goal and reached it in 27 days. I should be able to see my abs in the next couple weeks. That's pretty exciting being that I'm pushing 40. Besides the toning up, I feel like I'm turning 30. I'm never hungry, I'm always full of energy and people around me are asking a lot of questions.

After 4 days going vegan....BP is dropping a bit, down almost 5 lbs, I stopped taking Claritin already, ( BP MEDS ARE NEXT) tendinitis and swelling in right radial process is is going down. Best of all Tanya Koller told me this morning with GREAT enthusiasm that I'd didn't snore for the first time since we've been together! Also: google "dates calories" and it'll tell you one date is 66 calories.The app counts one date as 60 calories. But who knows? I just stop eating when I'm full. Calories mean nothing. Lost 20 pounds when I stopped the counting and just ate better :)

I was thinking the same thing!!!!!! I feel like everyone else can eat SO much and still have lower calories than I do. I use the app LoseIt (not to lose weight, but to track my food and to see how much I'm eating) and it automatically gives me the calories for my food log. Personally, I feel like it's way off from food bulk/calorie but I DO eat the jumbo medjool dates.. Maybe the app just over counts
