27 y/o female from WA. Love the weather and nature on my doorstep in this state. I started my health and wellbeing journey 2 1/2 years ago. I had been modelling and starving myself & excessively exercising to get lean body results prior to this. I did some research and ended up changing my diet to one that was very clean, wholefoods based (at that time, still included animal products), meditated, did yoga, thought happy thoughts, and the change in my feelings about myself and wellbeing were amazing. Was going through a joyous time. Something started to change a few months later, although I was wholefoods based I still felt I needed to restrict caloric intake, and then carb cravings started to ramp their way up. I lasted about 3 months bingeing on bowls of oats and luckily not gaining weight. I then was dating a guy who was into his body building (& red meat) and suggested if I wanted to lose the last bit of weight I was carrying (I wanted to) that I could do my wholefoods diet but as a ketogenic diet. Oh my god what a mistake. It's only through Freelee's videos that I now realise what that did to me. It cut out all fruit and carbs, and Id never felt so shit. My face changed, it developed this weird puffiness to it, & body wasn't looking that great. Totally bingeing on cashews and feeling crap. I stopped the diet but after I ended up breaking up with that guy I fell into depression. While depressed, my eating and brain was out of control with what was good for me anymore. I still believed in the power of living well but struggled to get the motivation in my depressed state, I just wanted to feel better. I did a juice fast in Thailand, and then went to a 10 day silent meditation retreat. It was here I started vegetarianism as they talked about the law of nature and how killing anything and eating animal products was not good for our dhamma. I also cut out alcohol for 10 months. I was still depressed lol, but I managed to start my own business in that time from then until now. I went on antidepressants at the beginning of this year. Rewind about a month ago, I started praying for some answers, because I didn't want to be on the AD's & the answers started to fall into my lap. My mum happened to seeon tv one night a genetic blood disorder called pyroluria - I had all the symptoms. So I went to a naturopath, was prescribed a shitload of b vitamins & zinc - and where the ADs didn't feel like they were helping, I suddenly felt so much happiness once again. The other answer I got - was stumbling across Freelee's YouTube videos - they make so much sense! And the results speak for themselves. I started raw til 4 (I believe potatoes on their own at night helps fight depression too) 2 weeks ago, and I am feeling in even better spirits. I am starting to wean myself off the AD's. Can't wait to be totally clean and thriving. Full of energy. All the issues I've had in the past do make sense. Our bodies don't lie, they send clear messages. My body hated the ketogenic diet, & craved carbs when I restricted. I am looking to this site for more motivation to stay on the path long term.
