I am THE Ava Burke and I am kind of a low fat raw vegan. I became interested in this way of living about three months ago. At first I dismissed it completely, but I kept coming back and doing more research until it started to make so much sense,and finally I've made it here(if only for two weeks) I've kind of been perfecting my diet since I was 14(for almost 8 years) and in that time I've gone through all the levels of "health":Standard American Healthy Diet(SAHD), Standard American Vegetarian Diet(SAV), Healthy Vegan Diet(HVD), High Fat Low Carb Raw Diet, and now the perfect way of eating! High Carb Low Fat Raw Vegan!!! Hehe at least until the fruit runs out... Regardless of what my raw status is, I will always be fruity and be vegan for obvious health and ethical reasons And I will continue to educate(when asked of course=>) those around me about all of the benefits of a vegan lifestyle so we can save the world!

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
I love being outside, either by myself to enjoy nature or with some special people. I'll read anything, a lot of Alice Hoffman and nutrition books. I've seen Fight Club at least two dozen times and Lord of the Rings twice as much. I'm a yogaing, cycling, running hippie(I'm not just saying these things) and I play the cello, flute, piano, and I sing(my strongest instrument). I'm fourth year in college for Exercise Physiology and plan to put this degree toward a career in alternative health, focusing on nutrition.

I'm just starting this diet, I've been incorporating parts of it into my life for maybe three months now but I've been 100% for a week and a half. The only maladjustment I'm experiencing is BLOATING, not really being able to eat enough everyday, and getting tired probably because of this. I'm slowly adding on the calories and waiting for my stomach to get used to all this food but I'm sure it will happen. (I guess that's what you meant by assistance?) But otherwise I feel pretty amazing, my workouts have never been better and I'm just really happy.

To get started. Be sure to note food, calorie, water, sleep recommendations and log (can use www.cronometer.com or similar) your food/drink intake, at least for the first few months to get used to what you need to eat to stay on target calorie wise as well as macronutrient (carbs:fat:protein) wise. Even if someone is a long time, established, raw vegan, it is possible to discover some things using "hard-data"; spot trends, be able to make good adjustments, that might not be possible otherwise.
