Actually I always considered my diet to be healthy. but since going vegan 1 year ago I know better.This diet was caused by a german book called Vegan for fit. I've been vegetarian before and mostly bought organic and local produce foods. One Saturday after a shopping at the Farmers market I stopped at a bookstore and the above mentioned book grabbed my attention... After flipping through I decided to buy it, with the intension to have some vegan option occasionally... When I start reading the introduction part I it made me thought-provoking. So I decided to get informed and get to know the truth about animal products. I made my way through the PETA website and watched several movies ( Earthlings, From farm to fridge etc. ) I was shocked, deeply sad and totally convinced that the vegan diet is the only way to save animals, humans and our planet. I didn't want to turn a blind eye on all the facts anymore.
I did a 30 day challenge with Vegan for fit lost 10 pounds and felt great...But then I get to know all the vegan gourmet stuff and really overdid with trying all the new things... Especially raw gourmet was very attractive to me...but I regained weight and didn't feel the energy and thriving like in the beginning. My athletic performance ( running, yoga, fitness ) also dropped down...this was a creeping process...added to this I also got a hormonal chaos due to discontinuing the contraceptive pill. I have skin problems and overdue menstruation since 8 months.... and I am also struggling with a slight hypothyroidism ...Desperate and disoriented I started to get information on dietary and red several books on that topic ..I really wanted to break through, wanted to find the optimum health love and energy ...surfing YouTube and watching tons of videos I came across Rawfully Christina's channel...The first time something really made sense to me and the person telling me all this information reflects this lifestyle as a vibrant, active and healthy beauty. I was so excited and curious that I started to watch all the videos from the pioneers like Durianrider, Freely, Megan Elisabeth, Food'nSport and all the others...finally I ordered the book 80/10/10 on Amazon. I read it while transitioning to this lifestyle ( I am still at the very beginning though) now I want to connect to like minded people, because this is the hardest part for me as I life in a region where even being a vegan was exotic. Most people don't understand me and I have nobody to exchange with and find support on my issues mentioned above.
So far I feel great being on this diet. It's day 6 being HCRV but luckily I don't have any detox symptoms so far.I hope, no I know, I will find them here on 30 BaD. This movement is awesome! I know we can change the world! As Mahatma Gandhi said: Be the change you want to see in the world!
