hi Darrick, wonder where you are "roaming and thriving on durians" now...w.l. suggested I'd contact you cause perhaps you can help me with some tips about how to deal with birds, monkeys, anteaters, insects etc. eating away future "2 be" harvests of bananas, mangoes and other fruits...Any personal experiences with this issue ? Wish you a fruit full year : )
Been following your journey with raw foods when you and harley were doing your thing in asia. Lost track of where you are now but have just seen in a post that you have been to rio before? I am heading there this tuesday and was wondering if you have any good tips for me. Like good hostel or place to stay. Ideally I would like to rent a cheap room for a month so if you know anything please get in touch.
If it is easier you can always add me on skype and we can talk on there
How is life? I've been a little busy here in Tokyo, but things are starting to slow down for me, and my Feb/March holidays are just around the corner. This means I have to decide on were to go. So, where are you hanging out these days, and were will you be in Feb/March? Do you know of any gatherings during that time?
Darrick! You're looking great and bright! :D I am so excited there is a fruitarian community on the Big Island!! I lived there for a bit 2 years ago. I'm thinking of comign there this Jan. Do you guys have internet and power the community?
We are headed to the Big Island next week. Will you be there? Do you have any tips for places we def gotta check out? Muchas gracias amigo! Seems that we are continuing to follow your footsteps around the world...
Thanks for leaving a comment. Eating fruits here in Davao is always and I don't need I guess to take some photos doing it. No need to show to the public. What matters most is that, I know now that I am on the right path when it comes to health. Let me say a simple thanks for everything you did, for the effort before, advises and feeding me a lot of information.
Hiya Darrick! I just wanted to let you know how much of a true inspiration you are to me! I'm currently getting through college in Boston, MA at the moment, and I'm actually planning 2 trips one to Hawaii in April and out to Thailand (an eco-sustainability/permaculture internship in Northwest Thailand- Nong Bua Lamphu) from June - Aug 2011! I've been reading much your wonderful posts recently and definitely had to reach out and say "hello!" Your insights and motivation empower me!! Thanks so much for all you do, and I hope to run into you in the future! Laterz! :-D
Arancillo is the best! one or two have been very bitter, maybe a little too much for my liking, but i still enjoyed them. Others might have been 9's or higher :)
I met some friends of yours last night, Daniel and Anelyn among many others. We met at Jojo's and they invited me to come sit with them and share a durian meal, and then we went out and sang karaoke for a few hours. It was a blast. And Bebz has been great about showing me around also.
i have not been down that street yet. will do. I plan to check out Agdao market later for the first time. Jojo told me going at night is dangerous, but i think some of the Philippino's are overly protective of their American friends.
Yes hopefully when things slow down a bit I will have time and attention to put towards some blog posts. It's been go-go-go (in a good way). I may go to stay at CMPL tomorrow, to change the scenery. I like Evergreen though.
Sorry for the delay, Brah--noticed I hadn't responded.
I was on da Big two March's ago, just for a week. Mostly in the Kona and Hawi regions, though I also circuited and crossed the saddle a few times. One of the most remarkable contrasts was the Mordor-like desolation of the caldera vs just a few feet away, the clean-aired paradise surrounding the walk-thru lava tube.
Tis the kind of place I could spend a lifetime exploring and never run dry...
Enjoy the NW, the durian, and your family I presume! :)
i just missed meeting you in byron this year apparently, i arrived here and met the crew, lived with jess and sei for a couple of months and have heard stories of you.
Being the Durian man that you are, i was wondering if you knew when Bali's Durian seasons was??
hope you are well and bouncing happy.
Hiya Derrick, It was a blast to hang with you at Raw Spirit. You are definitely one of the coolest, generous and loving spirits I've met in this life. I'm sorry I didn't stop and say good bye on Monday -- but I'm sure we'll meet again. Let's keep in touch. We definitely have to go surfing sometime -- Hawaii!!
