I'm actually getting my fruit wholesale from Procacci Brothers in South Philly. It's amazing. I can't believe how cheap everything is! It has definitely made being 811 a breeze. Have you checked it out yet? Definitely worth the trip.
I'm also looking into B12 injections. Although, I'm still a bit apprehensive about puncturing my skin, so for the time being, I'm riding it.
Stay well. Maybe I'll see you at the potluck on the 17th!
Hi Bill, how's it going? Drop a line. Guess, what happend to me: I'm feeling better. Not in heaps, but it's going on there. Hydration is simply so pleasant to me. I was watching the woodstocks' vids and found myself smoothly motivated.
Thank you for the kind words. I think it was the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a long time :) It is very hard to cook for family and that is where my problem is.. I love salty food and I hope to over come my addition to it.. I have noticed I am getting major heart burn from all the fruit and veggies.. is this part of detoxing>>? Will is subside? This is all very new to me and I am super excited to move forward in my journey..
Im doing pretty good.. today im going to try 100% raw all day long.. I always give in ...in the evenings when im cooking dinner for my family :( The only thing is now that im consuming lots more fruits and veggies im not losing any weight?? So im not sure if something is wrong or not but I really want and need to lose weight bad... any tips?
I am looking forward to becoming more connected with my food and reaping the benefits of the LFRV diet.
I absoloutly love Bananas and Dates but the prices at the moment for Bananas are crazy high over here in Australia. I really hope they start to drop in price soon so I can munch away until I am content :)
Thanks again Bill, I will be sure to let you know how my transition goes.
I was diagnosed with IBS and whatever I find I can identify myself with colitis as described in Kleins'. I'm still hunting calorie sources here. Listening to my body is very interesting. I've surely got a very delicate system and a strong demand for calories at the same time. When I don't come around sufficiant raw calories I think to myself that I might as well eat food made from grains or steamed potatoes, the latter might be my bridge. But I understand the raw importance. And I want to follow a diet as the page's founders suggest when I'm done with this area. How are you going today? Thanks for your answer. I saw you like reading, what else do you do in your free time? Have a good day. M.
Hello. Well, I'm looking for sources of energy since I won't under go weight loss. Eating more than 5 mangos is inconvinient, bananas don't do my digestion well at all and so I eat approx. 2000 cal. of soaked dates with greens/cucs/mangos over the day which makes me feel exhausted though. Blended food doesn't work for my digestion either. I drink about 5+ liters. Do you have some idea to help? Thanks! M.
I saw you post something about a digestion healing diet. I have many if not all of the same symptoms discussed (It's been about 4 or 5 years now and I'm only 19) and I was wondering if you might be able to send me information about it? Thanks so much :)
Hi Bill, yes I have a juicer and a blender - just a normal one not a vita mix - so ready to go. I think I'll stick with the baked potato and steamed veggies for the evenings to slow the detox up a little as I really can't have much more time off work, I've had so much time off already and I've got an interview for a new job next week.
So good to hear it's working for you. I will have to re-read it and start again. As much as I don't want to take the meds I'm equally worried about the effects when I stop taking them. I also know that when I detox I get really really bad migraines and I was worried that I would 're-vist' the really bad stomach pains and symptoms as part of the detox and this would have an impact on work - I've only just returned to work after almost 8 months off sick and am worried about losing my job if I get worse before I get better.
Thanks for commenting on this. Yes I do have the book and have read it a few times but so far not acted on it. One reason is that my appitite seems to have altered dramatically and I often can't face fruit or a green juice makes me sick :-(, another is that I really wanted to hear from people who have tried this approach and how they felt with it. I really hate taking medication but when your family and friends see you so ill they want you to do the conventional things to get better and talking to them about following a raw diet scared them when I was well!!
Can you tell me what 'symptoms' you had when you first started following the plan and did you stop all your medication immediately. I was terrified of taking the prescribed meds that I put it off for a while, unfortunately during that time I became really depressed and ended up thinking that either the condition would kill me or the meds would. I was in such a state that my husband insisted I got medical help and ended up on immunosuppressants and antidepressants. I managed to wean myself of the antidepressants and the other pills made me so ill that the doctor has prescribed a mild form of chemotherapy which really frightens me - thats why I started this group to try to find others who experienced similar things and be reassured that going raw again will heal this
I was med-high raw before I became ill and was diagnosed and some people think that it was my diet that caused it. I know this isn't the case but it's hard to convince them otherwise.
I'd really love to hear your experience of David Klien's approach and how you are doing now.
Thanx for the invite, happy to meet you.....so ye wanna live in the Jungle huh? Great man....when it comes to natural living this is the country....but......I have to tell ye Bill that the country does suprize me in a few ways. first it has gotten very expensive to live here, it is like they are saying,"we have enough gringo's here now, and we are only open to the ones with lotsa dinero" a shame.....another thing is that from what I have learned and experienced.....there is not everywhere a abundance of fruit believe it or not......it is still a farming community as in cattle in most areas of the country, and I have experienced the ordeal that I could not even find a single banana !!! weird huh. I live now in the Dominical area...the fruit and vegetable markets are thriving here, and so are the like minded gringo poulation...so when you come and visit the coutry, I would make sure you explore this part of the country....hope this helped....warm greetings to ye
