Hey Brina, thanks for the request :) Yes it is weird because i have eaten cooked food my whole life (non vegan), and didn't have the same issues as I do now. But I always has IBS. Of course I fee a ton better on high carb vegan, and waaaaaaay better on raw foods :) Its interesting how diet effects us so much!
Heya, got any dates set for your Cali trip? How are you getting around? I'd thought to more or less skip through to Mexico, but if there are other folks heading to the hotsprings, I'd be down for a side trip. I'll be there in mid-march though am as flexible as can be.
Aloha Brina! Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, I don't usually check my messages. I definitely think you should ask Mana Foods in Paia for their older produce at the end of the day. They used to keep it for me and sell me boxes full for around 2 dollars. Pretty awesome. I loved it. Also I used to go fruit picking with an organization that used to donate the fruit to the elderly, schools, etc. We could keep as much as we wanted for ourselves! :) It was a great cause, with a great reward! I am trying to remember the name of the organization, if I can find it I will give it to you. I am so excited for you, Haiku and Maui are GREAT places to be, enjoy! With love, Bliss
Hi Brina you are so sweet the first thing i saw was your comment. i think eating so much fruit is helping i already dont crave a lot of stuff i thought i would, smoking is getting less intense i want to run a half marathon so thats a huge motivator :)
I would love that...I've never been to Hawaii. Looking forward to planning some awesome vacations in the future. I'm a full time teacher but I can get away during the summer or a couple other times during the year. I think Hawaii will be the perfect place for you to start on your running journey :) Let me know how it goes!
Absolutely! The fact that you're dreaming about running is a good indication that you should be living it! Hawaii....ahhhh...I'm jealous. It has been such a long, cold winter here. Looking forward to warm sunshine and green grass (right now all I see is snow!). Have a great time. How long will you be there?
Hi brina! The best advice I can give would be to do like I did: Start of very slowly and work your way up. I honestly could not run for more than a minute. I was never athletic and didn't participate in sports when I was younger. When I decided to take up running I was tempted to give up after the first couple times. But I kept at it, running a minute, walking a minute. I lengthened the running time, while still taking walk breaks. Before I knew it, I was ready to run my first 5k and then 10k. The next year I was training for a marathon! I can't even believe I'm a runner really haha. I wish you all the best and please keep in touch :) I'm excited to see what eating this way will do for my training and performance. I already have a ton of energy so I know it will help a ton! Nice connecting with you and hope to hear from you again!
