Yes Ukuleles are from Hawaii(in a roundabout way) the word means "jumping flea" in Hawaiian. The ocean here is like a pool in heaven. Come check us out! You will make many friends here and the tickets(try Alaska air) are pretty cheap.
You should see the stars from Mauna Kea! There is more white than black up on that sacred spot! And the sunsets and sunrises! Whew!
No I did not grow up in HB but I spent my 19th year there and I do have some fond memories (mostly of skateboarding and surfing) but the smell of sewage, fuel refineries, and the "traffuck" was a little much for my sensitive soul.

Yes I am doing better now. I now live in Kapoho Hawaii (big island) with some of the cleanest air on earth,year round fresh fruit, and clean water. I am sorry that you live in such a place :( I know lots of people do Its just... Well just keep eating fruit and maybe you'll be OK.
BTW do you not think that area is toxic? You must have some good friends to keep your mind off the ugliness.
I ask because (and no offence) I think Long Beach sucks! Its as toxic as any place I have ever seen and then some! I used to live in Huntington Beach so I know. I respect the school and learning experience thing but I just don't think for your health that you should stay there long term.
