Hi Trevor. So sorry I never got back to you. Sometimes I miss some of the messages I get on here. Did you ever find any place to buy wholesale fruit? The cases of mangoes vary from $4.99 to $14.99 depending on the time of year. I just bought 3 boxes of champagne mangoes for $7.99 ea @ 99 Ranch and they're pretty good.
The Sat. market in Irvine is starting to get good right now with all the summer fruit arriving. Cherries are SO good. Did you get a chance to check it out?
Cool! I haven't found any place to buy wholesale locally, yet. I buy almost everything at the farmers markets in the area. The only bananas I like are organic, from Sprout's market and I do buy cases of mangoes from 99 Ranch market. I also buy a few things from Trader Joe's, like their tuscan melons and red caribbean papaya. Someone recently posted a really cool place to buy from distributors here. Did you see that thread? Although, I don't know if that would be wholesale.
Hey! Well, I used to live in Costa Mesa. I moved back to NYC, but my fiance lives in Irvine (basically one county over) because he still goes to UCI for Grad school. I never bought wholesale in CA because I would just get all my stuff at the Irvine farmers market -- that one is by far the best unless you can make it up to the ones in LA. For me, esp. in comparison to NYC food was SOOO cheap. Where do you live in CA? Someone on here wrote a post about a wholesale place in LA called Better Life Organics or something along those lines. Seemed pretty awesome.
