hang in there dennis and happy holidays! your body gets realy usedto high water content foods and reacts to them realy positivley after a while. i have to say that for me no diet works good without at least 40 minutes of exercise daily. it seems that that is the glue that tiest all together. its a very euphoric experience exercise and all the fruit. i can totally see why so many people are switching to this type of lifestyle. its is difficult but sometimes with these changes your old line of work is not as fullfiling as it used to be. sometimes a change in occupation can elevate ones spirits. best in the new year!
let me say a little more about my experience. as far back as i can remember food has always been a very important part of my life although perhaps in the wrong way. It seems every since i was a teenager i almost always got an upset stomache after eating. i never even associated this with anything unusual-it was just a part of my life. this condition progressed into my ealry 20's and soon i was getting colds all the time, feeling run down, having negative thoughts and feeling nervous for no reason. i felt toxic thats how i discribed it to myself. luckily a coworker told me(and i realy cant remember how the topic came up) that i should get the fit for life diet book by harvey an marilyn diamond. wow! is all i can say. properly combining all my meals and only eating fruit for breakfast changed my life!. i felt light, no stomache pain and actually my problem was too much energy, i always felt like running around the block or something. anyway i was not a vegitarian but ate only fresh fruit for breakfast, and ate about about 60% salad with 40% eigther protien(sometimes animal) or a carbpohydrate like pasta or quinoa uning one of the delicious recipies from the book. I tell my wife all the time how her love and pinapples saved my life. so time goes on and i get into my early 40's and i sort of totally forget to follow all the principles i learned of the years. so i found myself in my early 40's wieghing 190 cholestoerol 190, and blood pressure slightly high. well that was four years ago. now i weight 149 cholesterol 150 ldl 60 hdl and bp is 105/62. most important things about nutrician i have learned. Combine or eat only one thing at a time. the rythems of circadia- follow them. bare minimun diet that should be followed RAVE- no Refined products, no Animal Products, no Vegatable oil, and Exercise and no Exceptions. I personally am leaning toward eating juicy fruits and smoothies early in the day. bananas and dates later then lunch is carrot juice and wheat grass juice. then either grapes and apples or whole wheat vegan burrito with rice beans guacamole lettuceand green salsa. dinner is fruit or spinach salad with sprouts and fat dressing and 1 cup of whole wheat pasta fat free peanut suace. anyway i eat all this and only exerciser a little and i cant gain a pound. well i have to go for now because i am on my way to germany for vacation. wish you the best and hopefully this info is helpfull to someone. happy holidays!
