30 Bananas a Day!

Hey y'all,I must have picked the perfect time to go raw- in the middle of a brutal New England winter. I have a ton of fruits and veggies that I canned from the garden during the summer, but I feel like that's cheating a bit. Im just not sure how I'm going to stay Raw, when it's SO FREAKIN *COLD* outside, and I'm craving a hot cuppa :p Has anybody else stayed RV during the winter? Teach me your ways, Fruitbat Yoda's!

That's my first raw winter too, so, I'm not sure I can really give advices. But if you need something hot, I think herbal tea is ok on a raw diet.

Yeah, I'd recommend watching TannyRaw on Youtube. She has many tips and tricks on being Raw and they are all very helpful. She has like 800 vids and hundreds of different recipes you can try out. :)

Yeah like everyone has already stated, having warm drinks like water and lemon(lemon, ginger, and hot water is good too) are helpful and making sure you stock up on bananas will make things a little easier. I also enjoy having oranges and apples as well because I find they are delicious and pretty affordable around this time. Dates and a few apples blended up make a great apple pie smoothie(and you could add a little cinnamon too) I also bundle up during these times so I'm not  super cold when going places. Idk what kind of blender you have but I know a Vitamix warms soups up without destroying enzymes so you could make a nice warm raw soup as well.

Hi Phebe, I'm in New England too. Central Massachusetts to be more specific. Honestly it's all about buying cases of bananas and having them on different ripening cycles so that ripe ones are always available. Shipping in cases of dates are extremely important and helpful too. Gets a bit monotinous to eat same every day , but this was the only way I could do it when I was 100% raw. Now that I'm RT4 , I still feel so good and healthy, and that added pressure and anxiety of "staying raw" is lifted. It's just so much more realistic and relaxing. Oh and I agree, it's freezing right now!! It was 14 on my way to work today.

Best Wishes,
