30 Bananas a Day!

Why I play all my Games on Hard Mode.

Why I play all my Games on Hard Mode.

I play all my games on hard mode because I want to fail.  I want to fail and retry a level or boss as many times as it takes to beat it.  I want that process of having to learn something new through failure and then that feeling of absolute joy when all the failures have paid off and victory is achieved.  Some people just want to blow through a game on their first try without too much trouble.  This then relates back to the real life because most people want things just handed to them, but this takes away some of the learning that can be had through failure.  And the number one thing I’ve learned from video games is don’t be greedy.  Greed will kill you every time, trying to do too much before you are ready.  I know this but still I fall for it, I try to get that extra hit on the boss or I run through the pain in my knees.  Both of these only lead to a lot of pain.  Now everyone plays real life in hard mode but they are used to easy mode.   People think they want a quick fix so they try starvation diet and this works for a time until inevitably their ego that wants to not eat can’t hold on any longer and a baser survival brain kicks in and makes you eat and eat and eat.  This because they were greedy and wanted a short cut it leads to a greater long term failure.  Now if they were used to failure and knew that there is always a way to learn to win, they would have gained knowledge from this experience.  But since they haven't, they think they can just try the same thing over and over and expect different results, not doing any better than the last time.  These were my thought laying in bed at 3:15 am I hope they made sense and I hope I don't regret this when I wake up tomorrow.

Short term effects don't require much patience. Gets us into habits of wanting temporary results, so yeah, greed. "Patience is key" makes sense now .Fascinating perspective. Thanks!
