So today my daughter brings home from school a flyer with a picture of a pig in the middle, and some information about the carnival they are having on the last day of school, and how there's one contest where the teacher that loses must 'kiss the pig'.
Of course the vegan mind is already at work as soon as the words, 'pig' and 'carnival' come up! And then with horror I realize that it's exactly the picture I was looking at yesterday, trying to determine whether to put the image in an ebook I'm writing. It's the same image as what I saw, only this time, on my daughter's flyer from school, everything is just about cropped off except the pig's face. Only there's a little bit of the cage there. The gestation cage where the pigs stay for 3 months at a time and can barely move or turn around.
So I'm looking at this pig with such dismay. That an adult at school saw that image, and thought it appropriate on a flyer for kids for a carnival.
