Because my mom had cancer - her physiotherapist tiped her on some books about dairy connection to cancer - and as soon as my mom said what her physioterapist told her, it rollercoasted for me.
I was in a very vulnerable place with my mom and we were reading about it.
I was already lacto ovo vegetarian, so I was really just eliminating milk.

So it was pure health when I started out. and there are lots more reasons to why I stay vegan, than why I went vegan.

Because I want to feel good all the time. :-) I had been "searching" for a long time: I first went vegetarian & vegan shortly after, after about 3 years cooked vegan, I went high fat raw & was about to go back to low fat cooked. but luckily I found this lifestyle. Nothing else feels this good, it just feels right.

General well-being, end of eating disordered habits, better for the environment, simplicity.

Lightness, clarity of breath/mind, in tune with the buttercups outside my sill.

Just like Jillian, I lived for years with stomach aches and slowly did elimination diets and then realized I have Celiac's. Then I found that cooked food is what hurts me too.

My (minor) health problems, doctors and medicine in general - I dont want to live in lies like lies on meat, proteins.... I found out that only Im responsible for my life, for my health. I didnt want to consume the crap that is considered ok in our society. I was outraged that so many harmful substances are allowed in the food.
