Yesterday after work I saw that there were a few bags of bananas 50% off so of course I grab all of them, including a box of mangoes. Usually I go to self checkout but yesterday I decided to go to the regular line up and oh my god, the first person in line looked at what I had and was like "Oh wow, banana loaf? Mango chutney?" Nooo, just eating them all. Probably will only last me a day or two as well. Then the person behind me, "Do you shape (shape bananas? mangoes? what? lol) them?" Huh? Nope. Just eat them. They all look extremely confused. The cashier looked at me several times trying to figure out what the hell a teenager is doing with all that fruit. "Have a.. good night...." he said lol
It made me laugh so hard, because that was a very, very small haul of fruit. I can only imagine what people would do if I just did my full on grocery with my huge load of fruit like I usually do. Actually, the other day I went during my spare at school just to get a bag of bananas and the few people behind me were staring at me like that was the weirdest thing they've ever seen. I can tell you now though that in my city, I am literally the only high carb vegan here.
People are so very uneducated haha especially in my city though. I can not wait to move to the more "tropical" part of Canada, where fruit trees grow and it will probably be more "normal" so buy a freaking bag of bananas omg lol but I actually don't mind it. It's there lose anyway and it's really funny to see the reactions of people.
