I've been a Kundalini Yoga teacher for about 6 years now. At the time of my teacher training I was introduced to raw foods and it was the required diet of our training. It was based on a Gabriel Cousens book as well as some others.
That worked well for awhile but as I got more and more into raw, I got more and more into superfoods and extreme quantities of fat. I was short of breath, with constant fibromyalgia-like pain, light headed, always hungry and other issues I'm sure I purposely blocked out. I felt I was on the verge of diabetes, having trouble everytime I ate and thought it was sugar and fruit causing me problems. I thought I couldn't eat fruit without the same quantity or more of fat to neutralize it.
When I found this path 3.5 years ago things got so much better so fast. I couldn't believe it...but I have lessened and increased my fruit-centricness many times over and my body quickly tries to cleanse and its not always fun.
I talk about this subject a bit more on my blog. Do you have any other tips for making simple detox more comfortable? http://fruitaliniyogi.wordpress.com/2012/06/26/kundalini-yoga-for-d...
