30 Bananas a Day!

Today I am with my parents to help with my dad's situation with the aftermath of a stroke.  They did an mri on the head and we will get the results from the radiologist today.  I run the gambit of high stresss, sadness, frustration over my dad's health situation.  I am doing my very ripe bananas smoothie of bananas/water/cinnamon.  I need my brain to be at its peak performance to deal with the next steps and help around the house.  I am praying for wisdom to do the right thing for my parents and to keep myself healthy through this time.

I am grateful for all the nutritional advice and for that dose of inspiration to make it through.

hang in there!  you may want to look into testing him for B12 and iodine deficiency.  do it through someone who specializes in testing for these, regular tests won't tell you much.  in general most disease is due to nutrient deficiency.  Feeding him lots of nutrient dense foods is the best thing you can do for him.  Greens, beans, sweet potatoes, onion, mushrooms, nuts and seeds and blue berries.  Also I would get him on 10 grams of lyposomal vitamin C a day.  I have read about several people coming back from the brink of death just doing Vit. C alone and then rebuilding their nutrient stores on everything else.

Thank you so very much for your support Pvibes and Ednshell.  My dad's neurological decline of legs and hands was not due to a stroke like originally diagnosed.  He does not fit any classic box of stroke or parkinson's disease so they are shooting darts to the wall to see what "sticks".  What a exhausting diagnosis system the medical field has.  So many rounds with doctors and yet nothing conclusive. My father keeps losing his balance and thus had stitches to his head and it is causing a lot of stress to watch him lose his motor sensory in his legs with his walk.  Waiting for the mri of the neck to see if something obstructing there.  I am still in overdrive mode and it is just hard to see how many doctors it takes to try to figure this out.  It is very disheartening and makes me more determined to protect my own health and so age in such a way as not to need doctors.  It takes quite a bit of determination to be consistent and when stressed it is a lot more tempting to just go for what is available and there is the big temptation of numbing myself out with food. There is so much anxiety with not knowing and seeing a loved one struggle so with basic things like buttoning a shirt. My father's left hand is now working and those he does not have two hands to do normal things.  One can only be grateful to see that he still have the use of his right hand otherwise he would be completely handicapped with no hands.  My father was so abled bodied and strong up to now and it is heartbreaking to witness.  Thanks so much for listening and for your encouragement.  It is very hard.

Hi, I am so sorry to hear about your dad.

It is such a stressful time for your family so remember to be kind to yourself. Sometimes taking a few moments for your self can help give you the inner strength that is needed to deal with such a difficult situation.

If you are spending time at the hospital make sure you take enough food with you in case you can't find anything to eat.

I am sending you and your family a healing hug. Best wishes

keep up the greens intake!  your folks are so fortunate to have you!  taking care of my elder family members were hard times but also very precious times, right up there with the birth of my children.
