struggling with type 1 diabetes, please help

I am 13 I started raw til 4 in march and I completely stopped using any insulin except at dinner. cool with me. I have had nothing but perfect blood sugars since then. but a couple days ago I tested and I was 430 so I took insulin to get that down and I tested 2 hours later and I was 270. I assumed that the insulin was expired so I changed it took insulin again and tested the next morning and i was 225 nothing had changed. its been in the 200s since then and its 2 days later. this has caused me to cry myself to sleep cause i'm getting very stressed with this.why was everything so perfect but now is so horrible? please please help.

thanks! just googled him and a durian rider vid popped up! in the vid he explains if you go raw at diagnosis you can probably reverse it, like not have to take insulin. I went raw til 4 about 4 months after diagnosis when I found out about it :) so i think i'm good with then! btw I started eating dates again after not eating them for a week or so and my blood sugars are better now! weird huh.( idk if that really has anything to do with it )    but it hasn't even been 1 day so idk yet... also I really hope i can go like 95% raw by the time summer is over!

You might want to look up Robbie Barbaro.

On a pure high fruit n veg diet, he's stabilized his sugars, and reduced his insulin down to minimums.

A definite success story.

gayle. yes I have been trying too. I kinda stoppend testing and only tested every other day just cause everytime I tested it was perfect. it may have been expired insulin or thai food or potatoes and im frustrated that i dont know

Oh ok, everything sounds fine with your meals. It might just be the insulin was bad like you said, or you had a bad read maybe? I would think usually insulin won't spike that high randomly if you tested it before on the other days you ate and it was fine then.

i eat lots of fruit for breakfast and lunch and a salad and low fat starch for dinner ( the only meal i take insulin for)  but i did this all before this happened and i was perfect

No. that night for dinner had potatoes with greens. the last amount of fat I had had would be less than a table spoon of hemp seeds ( no more than 5 grams of fat) and one of my 4 sushi rolls i had the night before was an avocado rolls, this is stuff i ate before this happened and i was fine

Also, I know that fructose does not require insulin for transport, so if you are eating lots of fruit, GREAT! IF you are eating lots of starch/glucose for dinner that might have something to do with it, but I am not 100% sure about this, I'd like to hear what others think. Glucose requires insulin for transport and blood sugar can remain higher for an extended time for those who are insulin resistant (diabetics). Starches stick around and satisfy more because they are mainly composed of glucose. Glucose sticks with you for a while that's why they are so satisfying.

Hmm I don't know much about diabetes type 1 honestly, but I think if you increase your fat intake your insulin with increase. High carb and low fat is optimal for human health and vitality. Did you eat avocado or any overt fats before you tested?
