Was bumped, sort-of, going home from visiting my dad after H&F Week, etc. - long story that started with the plane getting delayed from mechanical problems, causing me to miss my connection before we left... ended up leaving a day later. Turned out nice though, they put me up in a hotel, gave me a couple of $8 food vouchers (that I used for bananas, actually found ripe bananas at the airport AND hotel, wow!), and they put me on First Class for my flights back today. Nice.
They served a bowl of fresh, yes, actually fresh, fruit along with a bear's claw & container of yoghurt on the first flight. I traded with the guy next to me all but my fruit for his. Sweet. Even sweeter was how he got me into the Seattle Board Room when we got there to stay while I waited for my next flight home (where I am now) - have a long layover... It's cool, free wi-fi, fresh fruit & veggies too! I'm lovin' it. :)
The fruit bowl they served on the plane in First Class was small for our standards, but nice for everyone else's... had some pineapple, blueberries, galia or honeydew melon, and a strawberry - so it even combined fairly okay together. Sweet.
The Alaska Airlines Board Room in Seattle has apples, oranges, bananas and perhaps something else I can't remember in large bowls here and there to munch on - as well as baby carrots & celery in a fridge in various spots. Nice. I ate the rest of the fruit I brought with me from the bumping vouchers and am gonna' eat some more later on when it was closer to my flight.
I'm wi-fi'ing there now. :) Nice 'cause there's no wi-fi in the rest of the airport. They have the arrivals and departures screens in there as well as big-screen TVs and lots of comfy chairs, phones with fax machines and private rooms to make phone calls or have meetings.
Thanks Tony! :)
Aloha All! :)
