30 Bananas a Day!

Another naturopath appointment today, who told me that I am protein deficient. *eyeroll* which would explain some of the muscle/joint soreness I experience (post-workout soreness, mind you).  I also have a dodgy hip from an illness as a child, which plays up from time to time.


Anyway, she calculated my protein intake at around 20g. Actually according to cron-o-meter, it's more like 40g (which is 8% protein on a 2000 calorie diet). The naturopath says I need 56g for my height, weight, and activity level. She's recommending raw protein powder, eating sprouted or cooked grains and lentils, and nuts.




Now I know that I'm still having a problem with under-eating, I really need to be up around 2500-3000. I'm a work in progress. If I eat 2500 calories, then 62.5g of protein will be 10%.


So now I have even more incentive to eat more calories - to prove that I CAN get all my protein without supplements or nuts or non-optimal foods like sprouted grains and beans. So it's like my mission now. Eat enough calories to prove the naturopath wrong. At least she's vegan too, so she's not pushing tuna and eggs on me.


(why am I seeing a naturopath? right now it's the cheapest way for me to get my bloods and bone density checked)

I am interested in knowing how this was going for you as well? Did you try to have sprouted grains and beans or up your calories, and has it worked for you?

I'm curious as to how this is going for you? If you need support feel free to contact me! I'd love to hear from you! You got this, girl, fruit (and lots of it) is your friend! I decided to do 2500-4000 calories daily almost a year ago now...and i think the key is to just DECIDE you are going to do it. Maybe start by putting a time limit on it...do it for x amount of days/weeks/months and commit to it, telling yourself that if you don't like the results you can always back off (but then don't actually back off lol)
