Personal HCRV blog: some thoughts on day 1 and my weight as of the start of HCRV journey

So, the first day feels a little weird after such a long time off the raw lifestyle. Definitely craved something salty second half of the day. made a surprising discovery for myself that might not necessarily got a lot to do with raw vegan diet, but with the fact why I have been gaining some weight on cooked vegan diet. So I was standing there in front of the fridge, and was totally craving some bean humus (which for past months was my favorite spread for bread). I always thought that it's pretty good and high carb, I did look at ingredient list once, but besides oil it looked pretty good, unfortunately all that time I never looked at its nutrient label. so pretty much all that time I was smashing bread slices with generous layer of humus on top, thinking that it's all good, but in fact its 65% calories coming from fat and has quiet a lot of sodium. yea...feel pretty dumb about that one haha. Won't be making that mistake again. 

Actually thinking about it, I have quiet a few high fat foods that I gotta let go. definitely guacamole (and avocados) have to go, humus, almond milk, coconut ice-cream and such. Damn... no sh!t I gained about 20 lb since last winter. I remember weighing myself in December 2012 and having around 216-220lb, and I measured myself today - 240lb. *sigh*... certainly got some work to do lol.

Didn't eat whole lot of food for the first day, only some bananas, prunes and watermelon (total of 1748kcal). but it was a sedentary  day for me, plus I drank over 3 litters of water, so I was pretty full for most of the day. Definitely going back to the gym tomorrow, and surely gonna have a major carbo-load afterwords, as I pretty much always have after a workout (only this time, low on fat)

Hey Bro - ya man - now that it is summertime where you live you can do the fruit and lose that winter weight no prob.  

The same thing happened to me.  I ate a fair bit heavier during the Winter and gained some weight, but now that it is warmer, it just naturally feels better to eat cleaner and lighter.
