30 Bananas a Day!

My Potassium too high? Too much water? HUH?

Ok I've not been on this lifestyle for long. However I went to the Doctor today about some bloodwork (I'm recovering from bullemia but with this lifestyle I haven't thrown up once! WOOHOO!!) Anyway back to seriousness he says my potassium is above the normal. I'm a little confused now. I eat no where near the amount of bananas that Harley and Freelee do and I'm now told to cut back. Is this normal for beginners on this diet or not. Will my potassium levels go back to normal after a while even with bananas or do I find other fruits?

Secondly my doctor told me I was over hydrated. Something about my urine gravity. (I'm not a doctor I don't know about this) That I should only drink up to two quarts a day. Which is going to be hard cause I'm constantly thirsty.

If you're a long time HCV can you give me advice. I'm slightly confused.

Sorry, the test is creatinine, not creatine.  Here is some other info on high and low K causes:

Potassium is the major cation of the intracellular fluid. Measurement of K is used for evaluation of electrolyte imbalance, cardiac arrhythmias, muscular weakness, hepatic encephalopathy, and renal failure and for the monitoring of ketoacidosis in diabetes mellitus and intravenous fluid replacement therapy. More then 90% of hypertensive patients with aldosteronism have a low K; a low K is also common in vomiting, diarrhea, alcoholism, and folic acid deficiency. High K values occur in rapid K infusion, end stage renal failure, hemolysis, acute starvation, dehydration, and acute medical emergency. There is a diurnal variation in plasma potassium level (minimum at about 2200 hours, maximum at 0800 hours). Clinical symptoms of hypokalemia (tiredness, weakness, hyporeflexia, and finally ventricular fibrillation) may occur at <2.0 mEq/L, especially if the drop in potassium concentration is sudden. Hyperkalemia results in muscular irritability, including myocardial. ECG shows peaked T waves; concentrations >7.0 mEq/L may be dangerous.

I would get the potassuim double checked.  If your blood sample was hemolyzed when you had it drawn, it will falsely elevate you potassium, potassium being chiefly an intracellular ion.  Many females have small veins and their red blood cells get hemolyzed during blood collection.

Urine specific gravity is a laboratory test that measures the concentration of all chemical particles in the urine.  It would seem that your urine SG should be higher and not low if you had excess potassium that your kidneys were trying to excrete.  What is your BUN (blood urea nitrogen) and creatine. These tests are elevated if your kidneys are damaged.

also good job on not throwing up. Keep it up. Im thinking that we don't want normal health levels be it potassium or hydration. The whole population is dehydrated.

I have no idea what normal potassium levels are supposed to be but I remember freelee saying in a video that you would have to eat something like 400 bananas in 30 seconds to get a lethal amount of potassium. Normal is being overweight and unhealthy.
