30 Bananas a Day!

I have spoke to my parents about going vegan and they don't agree with it! They say it's unhealthy and no matter what I say won't change there view on vegan ism?! My mum tried to be vegan when she was a teenager and ended up over exercising and I'm assuming she didn't eat enough as this worsened her binging, purging and anorexia! What should I do to become vegan? Is there a way to convince them after this experience? How can I convince them to allow me to live this lifestyle?

Thank you everyone for your help! I have been vegan now since 22nd February all thanks to all of your help :) My mum still isn't happy that I'm vegan although she accepts that it is my choice and not hers. I buy some of my own produce when I buy organic and when she goes shopping I come with her. She has even started going to a bakery called 'Noah's Bake House' in my area to buy food for me. I'd like to thank every single one of you for the motivation and courage you gave me! :)

My parents didn't agree with it either, they got very mad and worried. I simply told them I wont eat anymore animal products and that was that, if you want to feed me buy me fruits, rice, beans, legumes, other wise then I will definitely will be unhealthy. Since I haven't fallen over and died yet and I'm always telling them I'm feeling great they don't bother me.

Nutritionfacts.org on youtube is great for this since he's a doctor and parents are more likely to listen to a doctor. He has one particular video called uprooting the leading causes of death and it's about 55minutes. Basically about all the health issues associated with animal products and how many ailments can be healed/treated with plant based diets.

Show them the film Forks Over Knives, most library systems have it, you may need to do an inter-library loan.  Also show them your cronometer.

You could perhaps show her some Bite Size Vegan videos. They demonstrate the importance of animal rights and that vegans can every body shape minus obese. Also the physicians committee for responsible medicine is great for nutrition facts.

No one can force food into your mouth. If you want to be vegan be vegan, period. Find a way. There is plenty of hard science and clinical studies showing that you can live at optimal health by obtaining from animal products. If your parents don't get this they just don't want to and if that is there position it's going to be a tough road trying to change them. You will have to focus on yourself and find out how you can eat and live without animal exploitation.

You can do this. Message me whenever you like. I would be glad to help.
