I kind of like these stories. I also experiment occasionally with cooked foods, and starting to learn what the body likes/dislikes. Too bad of the salt/tofu, I wonder what would have happened if you just left them out, and like you wrote, fruit is QUEEN, and know back on the banana wagon :) Hope you get that 5K under the 20minutes :)
I am working on the 5K<20min myself, I ran 24K (2000kcal) today, witch is always dangerous, because I will get undercarbed by definition of running the distance. I now have to get 3500+2000 = 5500 kcal in to not get cravings the next day, but I never get this done in time (back from running at 12:00 so 9H to get the fruits in). Keep some cooked vegan food in front of me and I will take it down in no-time ;)
Cooked food may look good, smell appetizing, taste good, whatever..but it's inferior to ripe raw fruits. I forgot my fruit yesterday when I left for work. I was so pissssed. I was on my feet all day so I had some rice. Won't make that mistake again.
yes thank you for sharing freelee. just yesterday i had cooked rice and beans myself and lemme tell you... my body was soooo overheated all night i could hardly sleep. felt like a fever. i flushed like crazy with water and went to the bathroom and all is well. i'm gonna try to mono eat watermelon me thinks all day. that was NO fun.

Had a similar hangover experience and water retention with salted sunflower seeds...and hummus.
