I am starting to realize that having only 20 bananas in my apt. (half of them green!) is waaay too few. I will look into the local wholesaler (about a 20 minute walk from here).
Most of the delis and fruit guys also don't usually have the ripes ones on hand and I can't bring anything with me today to work. This will be a challenge but I will make sure to find something for lunch today. Maybe I'll try bringing a small baggie of dates. It's frustrating because I can't even have a purse on me and there's no pockets in my uniform! Maybe I'll stuff the dates in my bra : )
I am starting to feel better about this process knowing that my body is still ridding itself of toxins and junk that I have been holding onto for all these years. Getting myself into a healthy mindset about food is why I started in the first place and I need to be patient.
The one thing that really clicked with me about this lifestyle is listening (and not suppressing) our instincts and appetite. When I was ED (or just Weight Watchers and other restrictive diets) I was ALWAYS hungry and never satiated fully. Sure, I would get FULL and bloaty and uncomfortable but not fully satisfied. I always thought there was something wrong with me.
Now I understand that my body was telling me I NEEDED more because I wasn't getting what my body needed. Now I eat my bananas in the morning and I feel satiated, not stuffed. The HFRV diet encouraged fasting throughout the morning and not eating (or drinking juices) until almost 1 PM. I was bummed because I was always hungry upon waking. "Why can't I eat?" Why shouldn't I be able to eat?". It didn't make sense to me.
The 811 LFRV lifestyle makes sense to me and I am looking forward to having a healthier, glowier, lighter me. Thanks for reading guys, Your comments and tips and encouragement are appreciated so much!
