30 Bananas a Day!

Hi Guys! Yesterday something happened in my knee. I went run and suddenly i fell down. I'm feeling deep pain in my left knee. I could barely walk. It also happened me in past. I'm worrying. I love running and i want to do this. I wonder if vegan diet can help me. Lastly my diet was awful. Now i'm recovering. Do you have some good tips to improve health condition of my knee?

your massage therapist is wrong about the meat thing obviously, I hope your father wont be on your case now. I am a physical therapist assistant so I know a thing or two about knee injuries. If your knee was giving out and swelling you may have injured your meniscus or its being over used/tendonitis somewhere. Taking some time to rest is a good idea but keep your gluts strong by down straight leg raises is all directions. ice, rest. maybe see out physical therapy in your area if you can.

Thanks Orion really interesting n good to know. Im guna definately give that a go ....starting now.  I looked up what the pisiform and ulna is lol. Reeeeally appreciate the advice. Ive never had any injurys that didnt go after a few days rest so didnt really know where to start. Doctor told me to ignore it and it would go lol. But i had been doing that for weeks and it got so bad i decided to take it seriously and take a break from the bike. The swelling is really starting to go down since Ive been massaging well (didnt really have a technique before and wasnt doing it very hard thinking i may made it worse). And hahah DEAL!! :)

You can repay me by never eating or wearing any animal product ever again :)

there are muscles that run along both tides of the tibia (shin bone) that you should massage (cross fiber) as well, because they contribute to knee injuries as well. run over them with moderate pressure, enough so where it almost hurts, like car wheels running back and forth over a speed bump. Look around with your fingers, thumbs, or heels of your palm (as well as your pisiform if you're familiar with that part of your ulna) for knots and strands of tension. You want to be introducing oxygen back into those knots and strands of tension (contracted sarcomeres) so that the knots and strands release (relaxed/deactivated/retracted sarcomeres) from ATP being able to go back into the muscles.

Im off the bike at the mo with quad tendonitis (3rd week).  Maybe thats what urs is? Pain above knee cap at front. Rest (i hate this part), stretching and massaging seems to be helping me a lot.  Thanks for the massage technique and info Orion Im gunna try that.  Icing seems to aggravate my injury so im not doing that at mo.  Thansk for vid Ed Im looking forward to watching that and try your hot/cold technique.

Why Ice Is Not So Nice for Physical Recovery

This device works to improve circulation and reduce pain.Another trick is to take a bowl of hot as you can stand without burning water and a bowl of ice water and use a wash cloth for each one and alternate putting the cloths on your area of injury, about 3 or 4 seconds each time, repeat about ten times.  This increases circulation.

Yes a vegan diet is the way to go if you want optimal recovery for injury!  Consume as many  high calorie mono meals of fruit as you can, 100% fruit would be even better.  Plus get as much sleep and rest as you can.  Plus makes sure to get enough water in to pee 10+ times daily.
