Is it okay to get more than 1000% Vitamin A per day every day?

Everything I read says that too much Vitamin A is toxic? No matter what the source is. Although, some articles mention that toxicity usually results from too much in supplement form.
I use Cronometer every day, and everyday it says I get wayyyy too much. Am I in danger?

Rock, are you saying you don't get enough from fruits/veggies?

If so good sources are Kale, Sweet Red Peppers, mangos, carrots, spinach, & cantaloupe.

How /where do you find vegan (not in gelcap, not fish oil, not chemical only) vitamin A???

I have to find Beta-Carotene (and in foods).

Thanks for clarifying. I got kinda worried when I noticed my amount has been more than 1000% consistently. I never heard of anyone O.D.ing on fruits/veggies so I guess I should trust my body to know when I've had enough and stop converting.

too much vitamin A is definitely a bad thing, but note from that page: What are the health risks of too many carotenoids?
Provitamin A carotenoids such as beta-carotene are generally considered safe because they are not associated with specific adverse health effects. Their conversion to vitamin A decreases when body stores are full. A high intake of provitamin A carotenoids can turn the skin yellow, but this is not considered dangerous to health.

on 811 we consume loads of beta-carotene but not the vitamin itself; the body then converts it to an active form of vitamin A based on its current needs (wikipage that can explain better than i would). today i took in about 50k IU of beta-carotene, which, according to health canada, may have given me as much as 7500 IU of active vitamin A, still comfortably below the upper limit for a man my size.

so... if you're in danger, this ain't the cause :)
