I need you help with a dental problem!!

Hello everyone,

I have been having massive tooth pain every now and again and my dentist informed me that I should have all of my teeth removed and that I should get dentures.  I have gum disease and I didn't know how bad it was until I was on this diet for a while.  After the inflammation left my body I noticed how much my gums receded and I saw just how bad the existing problem has become.

My question is is anyone out there that has received dentures on this diet and is it a good idea?  How do you feel about dental implants?  Since I eat 100% raw does gum disease keep getting worse or does it stop decaying further?

Your input is very important to me and I'm looking for an informed raw opinion : )

Yeah, basically two things that matter:
-Get at least 500mg of calcium per day, 1000mg if you want to play it safe
-Your calcium intake should be equal or higher than your phosphorus intake. Bananas aren't bad per se, 1000 calories from bananas is only around 260mg of phosphorus, no big deal; trouble starts when your body doesn't get enough calcium from foods to process all the phosphorus. Trick is to add more foods which are loopsided t'wards calcium, like papaya, figs, prickly pears, romaine lettuce or oranges (if they are perfectly ripe and sweet, otherwise they are too acidic).

I thought oranges were hard on the teeth.  I haven't getting enough greens in for sure.  I can't eat them because they hurt my teeth and I can't chew them up well enough.  I can juice them though.  I didn't realize that the bananas were leaching calcium from my bones and teeth!  I will look into that.  Thank you both.

Look, I'm not saying this will fix your problem, but it does make all the difference for tooth health.
