In our family, I am the fruity. My wife and daughter eat vegetarian, although there is this recent mental move away from dairy (yes! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!). They eat lots of vegan too, but eggs and dairy are always there, at least a little. Cheese will be a tough one to get them off of.
So every morning, my daughter typically has eggs and toast, Oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, waffles, etc. LOTS of grain type stuff which is probably really not good for her, for many reasons but in particular since she has Epilepsy.
Anyway, so the other day she was asking for breakfast and Mom was busy. I am usually out with the horses at that time, but had shifted morning chores to later that day, so I happened to be in. So I just filled a bowl with a couple hundred grapes, and a few peeled and separated clementines. Both raised their eyebrows at this, but it was a rush situation and there was no time to do something else. *heh*
She came home and reported she had SO much energy! One of her friends was like "Good Lord, how much coffee did you drink?" She had to admit "I don't drink coffee, I had grapes for breakfast!"
Last night I went and got more grapes, pulled them off the stems, washed them and put them in a huge bag in the fridge. This morning after my daughter had left for school, I went to get some grapes and noticed there were not nearly as many in the bag as there had been ... YES! :)
