I CAN'T SEEM TO GET RID OF MY ACNE/ROSACEA

Hi everyone! I am writing because I am seriously desperate about improving my acne prone skin and I'm hoping someone out there can help me out. 

(I apologize in advance for the long message :)

A little background about myself. I am a 22 year old female, 4' 11'' with mild acne and mild rosacea who became vegan over a year ago. I initially became vegan in order to clear my skin (which was far better than it is right now). I followed rawtil4 for a few months and in the initial first weeks, my skin looked great! Throughout the rest of the year, my skin had ups and downs. Some days were great, others were terrible and I could never pinpoint what it was. I spent hours researching and researching. At this rate, it couldn't still be detox, and I was also eating plenty of greens, drinking 3L of water a day, exercising regularly, sleeping at least 8 hours a night, and eating very little fat, and of course, no oil, etc. My skin never increasingly got better, every day was a different story. 

After months of following rawtil4, I noticed that after I would eat cooked food for dinner, my face would become inflamed, even if the food was cold, and the next day I would see a few new pimples. I decided that maybe the cooked food was giving me a problem and I would give fully raw a try. I adopted an 80/10/10 diet, eating mainly fruits throughout the day with a big green salad for dinner, making sure to incorporate my greens. I have been doing this for 3 weeks, almost a month now. 

Here's where things get complicated. I noticed that adopting a fruit based diet really calmed my rosacea and it was a lot less red and I was really happy about that. However, my acne seemed to flare up, especially on my forehead with little tiny bumps. I am still unsure if this could be detox, maybe im not eating enough greens,or not getting in enough calories, but I'm definitely drinking a lot more. But after I eat a big fruit meal, my skin seems to be sooo oily! Im barely eating at overt fats, maybe thats the problem? I also read that some people have high triglycerides, and this may be why the fruit is causing me to breakout? At the same time, I am noticing that I have a lot of dandruff, and to me, this sounds like candida, which i don't believe i had before starting this journey. 

And whats weird is that when I ate cooked food, my acne seemed to be a lot better, but the rosacea would get worse, even if i was eating something simple like plain oatmeal or whole grain rice with veggies. And with the fruit, the rosacea is fine, but the acne pops up. 

If there is anyone out there who may know what I can do, I would be extremely grateful bc having acne and rosacea at the same time is really hard and terrible for my self-esteem and confidence. I would love if someone could give me some advice :)

@bitzy thanks for the comment! My digestion lately actually hasnt been the best which is why I started banana island 2 days ago in the hopes that my digestion will get better. Prior to that, I was eating a lot of other fruits and lots of water but still, I had bad digestion, so I guess Ill see what happens in the next couple of days.

The key to all skin issues is related to digestion/gut health. Is your colon healthy? Are foods moving through you with the proper bowel transit time? Have you taken antibiotics in the past that could have destroyed a lot of your friendly bacteria?  All other fixes are temporary. Fix your sewage system, fix it all.

A series of professional facials done by someone who has treated acne before with success.

I have not heard of anyone being allergic to all fruit.  If you think you may have an allergy to any food, an elimination diet is a good idea.  Start with eating only a food, for at least one full day, that you know works for you and then add in one food per day and see how you react.

@MilosStepita thats awesome that youre acne free! Were you doing raw for a period of time or just whole foods, plant based? Do you think the exercise really made the difference for you? I exercise about an hour a day, but maybe I have to put in more intensity.

@Spiffybararella thanks for the reply :) Yeah, I avoid all fats in my diet but the acne still comes up, maybe I should add some flax or chia seeds, bc im wondering if my fat intake is too low.

It sounds like fully raw is really good for your rosacea. As far as acne goes, I know that fats can be a trigger. Personally, I suffer from eczema and I know that stress is definitely a big factor. Avoiding dairy products (by going vegan) and cutting alcohol have definitely helped my eczema.  Eating enough calories and getting enough exercise has helped to reduce stress.

It took me maybe a year, 2 years till I completelly eliminated my acne on whole foods plant based diet. Now after 6 years I get pimples rarelly, usually when I would eat more oil, but even then it is not that much. My girlfriend however is eating the same as me, and is getting far more acne on the sides of her face primarily. The only difference we are doing is that I am doing little bit more exercise, and once a week I would high intensity exercise, but she wouldnt.

Water is great, but when eating it just gets in the way and dilutes stomach acid, leading to indigestion.  Indigestion can come out in your skin.  Drink 30-10 minutes before you eat, and then wait an hour after eating before you drink again.  Or drink if thirst during the meal.  But don't gulp down water while eating.

@Dominic wouldn't I have to up my water intake to clean things out? And I for sure need to lower my stress levels :)
