My aim since 28/12/11 was to go 100% low fat raw vegan for 3mths... I haven't been perfect, probably more like 90-95%... I've been aiming for 2500-3000cals per day, I haven't been perfect there either, in fact I've only been averaging 2600ish cals... I've had 1 day out of 5 where I was 100% LFRV...
My symptoms have not been bad, although my diet has been pretty healthy for a long time now, a little nausea mostly and tiredness over the last few days, it's been pretty hot here in Melbourne, Aust for the last few days as well so that could account for some of it too.
Anyway, I jumped on the scales this morning and have lost 2.3kg's, which I know is water etc, and although I wasn't bad over Xmas I still have a few Vegan treats and more foods that would have bloated me up.
Still, this has proven to me that this can work, I would not usually be able to lose even water unless I was on 1200-1400cal a day.
The only movement I have done (since it is my holidays and normally I exercise about 10hrs a week for my job), is gardening, a bush walk (the looking at scenery kind), and I did 20 min of treadmill interval training yesterday)
I had read the testimonials and the research and it all made sense to me but in my gut I just couldn't believe I could lose weight without calorie restricting... I soooo hoped it could be true for me, but in my history it had never been my truth.
To me it is like telling me I can fly, showing me the science of it, reading how other people have done it, but I'm really not going to believe it until I start practising and seeing that it is possible.
So, I am stoked this morning, I feel like I have been handed the Holy Grail...
