I started my vegan journey four weeks ago. It made a lot of sense to me, since I had never enjoyed eating meet. I thought giving up dairy would be a liitle bit hard, but it was not.
After a couple of days I have already noticed a huge difference in my mood. For the first time in the last 4,5 years, I felt CALM and JOYFULL. I came from a past of calorie restriction and daily binge/purge behaviours.
At the begining, I was sure eating like this would occupy a lot of time, but I actually noticed the opposite. Before HCV every single one of my thoughts was about food: what could/should/would /couldn't/shouldn't/wouldn't eat. My brain was screaming ”I need carbs!”, but I diddn't listen because I was afraid of gaining weight. Now I actually can and have the energy to think about other things.
I guess I was really lucky for not gaining any weight since I started HCV (58 kg at 169 cm), even if I have twice as much calories (I used to restrict to under 1000, now I eat 2000+, I'm still increasing the numbers until I will reach 3000). I didn't lose weight eighter, but I'm sure my body-fat percentage decreased and my metabolism was accelerated.
To sum up, 4 weeks of healthy diet, no binge/purge behaviour, feeling stronger, happier.
4 Weeks of being ALIVE again!
I wrote this post hoping that someone having an ED sees it and feels encouraged to replace it with this awesome lifestyle.
